There’s no excuse not to whip up a crusty loaf of Irish soda bread this St. Patrick’s Day, especially when it’s part-whole wheat and packed with oats! One of the best quick breads out there, soda bread is so easy that the hardest part is waiting for it to cool before serving it with salted Irish butter. I’ve also included a few variations you can try out! Get the recipe for Irish Soda Bread:

My goodness, some on this site are taken this recipe and ripping it apart cause it’s not part of traditions. Please, life is too short and enjoy the new recipes of old traditions. I myself look for different ways to make something that I have been making the same way for years. Sometimes people even like the new one better, some like to stay with the old. Enjoy different taste. Times have changed with new traditions using parts of the old and new generations making the recipe their own. Such anger, if you don’t care for the way this recipe was made then just keep making this bread like you always have, so simple. Embrace new things that won’t hurt you.

This looks like a nice quick bread, but it's not Irish soda bread. Irish soda bread would not include baking powder, a ton of sugar, eggs, sour cream, or raisins. You simply made a quick bread that has nothing to do with Ireland.
Simple enough….me Irish granny seemed to bake+ make 1/2 day🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃
Way to much sugar.
What I do is simple.
(Am Irish)
450g flour (300g white, 150 whole wheat)
6g salt
10g sugar
20g baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
Mix with 450g buttermilk.
Add to greased loaf tin, flour the top then cut across with a scraper (as in cut all the way down)
Bake around 45-50 mins, 180c. Preheat to 200 before.
You should make more videos like this one, haven’t seen a video like this in a long time.
I have had this my entire life and have never seen one cook in a loaf pan before. (I am 57)
This is more cakey than the usually soda bread but looks good nonetheless
