I normally love ATK. But you owe a lot of people an apology. This video needs to be edited. Peanut were discovered in South America. Spewing false rewritten history because you are either too "woke", too lazy to check history, or too scared to tell the truth is insulting to all of us.

You should have seen how shocked my mother was when she found out that after years of sending me to school with a PBJ for lunch, she found out I hated PBJ sandwiches. She asked why I never said anything. I thought it was just another one of those horrible things that you had to eat because they were good for you. She thought she was spoiling her baby. We she found out that I was trading a half a PBJ for a whole tuna sandwich with two different classmates, she kept sending me with PBJ and told me to enjoy my Tuna.

I realize baking is unique because of the chemistry involved, but regular "peanut butter" is pretty vile in my opinion: mostly vegetable shortening, and a ton of sugar. I realize that natural peanut butter is much trickier to bake with. But wow, I cannot believe I ate that other crap my whole childhood. Team crunchy/chunky. And I am often found with Almond butter in my cabinet.

Hydrogenated oil and palm oil are highly inflammatory and should not be consumed! Organic peanuts and salt should be the only ingredients in peanut butter.
Whether I prefer chunky or smooth peanut butter depends on the texture of my bread. A multigrain bread or nut/seed bread with lots of chunky stuff baked into it has enough texture on its own that chunky peanut butter would be overkill, but a plain bread that's evenly soft all the way through needs chunky peanut butter to compensate.

3:36 Or you could just use a butter knife or a fork. I stir the crap out of even the processed peanutbutter, makes it more spreadable than the dense paste you get from it sitting, but also causes the oil to seperate when it otherwise wouldn't as quickly.
I like crunchy peanut butter way better than smooth. I like the brand that sells sugar free peanut butter. Can you talk about that sometime? When I tried making peanut butter at home, it was very dry.

My family prefers the Classic Peanut Butter Cookies from ATK. My family requests them often enough that I’m getting a little tired of making them, so taught my 12-year-old nephew to make them. The filled version was good, but not on the same level according to my sources. 😉
