  1. Even with the cayenne, it wasn't too spicy for the kids. I spent less on the entire dinner that I would have paid the well known chicken place for their popcorn chicken dinner for one person, and those are always overdone and dry. a little troubleshooting. After adding water to the flour mix, dont let it sit! It gelled up and looked like lava, and I pulled big pieces of gluey wads of flour gunk. But, there still was plenty to finish the second batch, and I highly recommend this dish for the kids. or hot appetizer at a party. I set out all the popular dips, BBQ, honey, ranch, ketchup, in seperate to-go salad dressing sized cups. Everyone loved filling their plate and then grabbing a couple of sample dips. And the pound and a half of chicken breast was enough for two 12 year olds, an 8 year old, and 2 hungry adults. Happy New Year to all my coaches at ATK. I feel so blessed to share a passion with so many nice people, I can't tell you how happy it has made me and how much it has enhanced every corner of my humble kitchen.
You all are THE best. Thank you.

  2. OK, but . . . not healthy recipe–as much flour as chicken, several teaspoons of salt and, of course, deep fried to boot. The cooks featured on this site are not looking like fit people with good BMI. Not an issue, you say? OK, understood.

  3. Breast? No! Popcorn chicken was skin and the dregs from the fryers. Breast is far too dry to make any kind of chicken dish. Use the dark meat if you must use meat; otherwise, use skin like it's supposed to be made!
