Make delicious melt-in-your-mouth pressure cooker pork belly. The Japanese name for this dish is Kakuni (角煮) and it simply tastes amazing with rice.

Ingredients:

3 green onions (we’ll use only the green parts)
1 inch ginger
1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
2 lb. (907 g) pork belly block
Water for cooking pork belly
4 boiled eggs
Shichimi Togarashi (Japanese 7 spices) for taste (optional)

Seasonings
¼ cup sake
½ cup water
½ cup mirin
½ cup soy sauce
¼ cup sugar

  1. There is no way this video is showing half a cup of soy sauce, it looks way more. Can you please confirm if the measurements shown is correct? Maybe the measuring cups you are using are just tiny, but the video makes them look big.

  2. This is a great recipe but how do you make this in a slow cooker? The title of this playlist is "pressure cooker/slow cooker." After reading your description and looking over your recipe, I realized you were referencing the pressure cooker and slow cooker functions in your Instant Pot. However, some like me might be confused and misunderstand what you actually mean. Please consider editing your playlist title with "Instant Pot Recipes" instead.

  3. I live in Japan where we don't yet have the Instant Pot but I have a regular pressure cooker…I wonder if I can try this in that? My mom in the US made this with her Instant Pot and LOVES it….she can't keep enough leftover to freeze though; it always gets completely eaten up!
