Just when I thought I couldn't love ATK more … this Hunger Pangs series makes me crave Chinese food. Dare I attempt these recipes at home??
TFS…I am with Mrs Pang…they just added soap suds to a great looking dish 🤢🥴🤢
Hate cilantro or in the UK coriander, it's like a Marmite thing I think. What's the alternative in this dish, parsley maybe?
Hi just found your channel you had you dads chemistry is awesome I just subscribed after watching just a few viedos videos you make everything looks so easy .I’m on team dad love cilantro 👍
Love cilantro! Love Hunan dishes. Baking soda a must on most beef stir fries. YES!
I LOVE CILANTRO. I can substitute it for parsley in many dishes like Shrimp Étouffée. Going to try some on Italian sauces
This looked really good but my kids couldn’t eat it. And it was tolerable for me. The peppercorns were just overwhelmingly fragrant. If you’re unsure I’d cut their use back to a half or even a quarter of the original amount. Otherwise you may be dumping the entire dish and ordering out.
Also I’ve never been a fan of the water baking soda trick ATK loves. It introduces too much liquid and unless your wok is very good It ends up boiling the meat and it has an off putting flavor.
Cilantro lover here! But I must admit I know so many people who hate cilantro and I can never understand it! I do think there's such a thing as too much cilantro though, especially the fresh stuff. I buy a chopped salad mix from the store that as soon as you open the bag the cilantro is immediately identifiable!
Prickly Ash, sometimes called the Tickle Tongue Tree is a thing in Texas that can be used instead of Sichuan Pepper.
10:18 Human beef?
More Chinese recipes please!!!
Love this father/son duo! Great doable recipes, too!!
I just love you both cooking together!!!!
I wish you had more videos .😇💜♾️🌾🍀🍀🍀🍃
pardon 😁 dude or dad 😂😁
Oh My It is hard to find you 2 😂😍😋❤
Having English speaking Chinese chefs didn’t lend enough credibility ATK had to add a red lantern for a little razzle dazzle
I love Hunger Pangs, but I'm with Mom – Can't do cilantro. For me, it is a "vile weed".
It’s really nice to see Father Pang’s personality coming through in this video! I feel like he’s been a little too much in the back seat in this season of Hunger Pangs. I like it when their roles are more equal and the father/son dynamic comes through.
This guy sounds just like Kal Penn.
My hubby and I love you guys. Can you do a recipe that specifically highlights shaoxing wine? Using it more as a main ingredient not just a secondary one…? Thanks!
What a wonderful series- makes Chinese cooking do-able. Please give us more episodes!
Sounds amazing. I love cumin.
Cilantro tastes like soap, I don’t care for it either.
I love ATK and I’ve learnt from this episode too. Unfortunately I couldn’t help but point out this is NOT Hunan cooking. I’ve never used or heard any Sichuan spice when I grew up in Hunan because we have our own spice. I also hate the sticky texture in the final product; it’s more Guangdong style. We Hunan people love stir fry but we like the final product to be dry and clear. It’s still authentic Chinese cooking but it’s misleading to call it Hunan.
I love cilantro !!!
That was delicious, how what else can I do with all these Sichuan spices?
Very cool video, but kinda long
ATK continues the down hill trend that started with Christopher leaving. You can get this at every Chinese joint in the US. It is not unique, or an update of a classic
cilantro tastes like soap. blech! this is a known genetic thing that 17% of the population has.
The Hunger Pangs are so cute! Enjoyed the video. I used to HATE cilantro when I was young but something, somewhere changed and as an adult I LOVE it!! I use cilantro all of the time.
