I've followed the recipe multiple time exactly as listed and still get flatter cookies than what's shown on video? Any ideas as to what to do?
The word for denizens of Massachusetts is: Massachusettsian. Primary stress is on the fourth syllable with a strong secondary on the first. It's dactylic. Hope this helps Dan. The cookies are great.
Thanks Dan!
Thank you so very much for sharing this recipe. I didn't know about browning the butter until I watched this video. I will definitely try this recipe. I love Massachusetts and all the wonderful things there. Incredible people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well Dan you can give us some kind of measurements at least. Second try an I bomb out again. 💣
Watched video, probably monetization and I have to pay to get the recipe! 🙄🙄🙄
INGREDIENTS!
– 1 ¾ cups unbleached all-purpose flour (8 ¾
ounces)
– ½ tsp baking soda
– 14 tbsp unsalted butter (1 ¾ sticks)
– ½ cup granulated sugar (3 ½ ounces)
– ¾ cups packed dark brown sugar (5 ¼
ounces)
– 1 tsp table salt
– 2 tsp vanilla extract
– 1 large egg
– 1 large egg yolk
– 1 ¼ cups semisweet chocolate chips or
chunks
– ¾ cup chopped pecans or walnuts, toasted (optional)
That was shady. Thanks for not sharing the recipe. And if you do wanna get it. Sign up for a membership of America's test kitchen
Oh my goodness, I learned so much from this short video. Thanks, Dan! This human (Dan Souza) gives a lightheartedness to the world that is so desperately needed.
Given how important the measurements are as the host identifies, none are given and the recipe is behind a pay wall. Anyone know an accessible version of this recipe is written? Or which of America’s Test Kitchen cookbooks contains this recipe?
yummy!🍪
Add a cup of oats that spends a moment with the food processor and pecans walnut pieces and you'll have a real cookie. I'm sorry your cookie looks so lonely on real ingredients.
Mass hole
masshole
Sorry, mate. The first school in America was founded in 1523 in Texcoco, today México City by Fray Pedro de Gante.
On, you meant just the US…
i think the word youre looking for is masshole
This dude cool
Love, LOVE, Love this recipe! Browning the butter and letting the wet batter rest before incorporation is a gamer changer. These are my favorite choco chip cookies. Don't deviant from the recipe, it's perfect as-is!
Dan speaks very clearly. Great voice, too. Love it!
Pete Davidson?
"this is how you eat chocolate chip cookies"
dunks fresh baked cookie in milk
NO YOU FOOL — milk is only for old dry cookies that need softening up! Dunking a fresh cookie is sacrilege! An insult to the baker!
Does this dough freeze well? How long can I freeze? And are there any special instructions for baking after defrosting?
Of all the people chiming in about how they're disappointed, and the sugar ratios are screwed up, of all those people, couldn't just one person write the entire recipe down as far as ingredients are concerned? You know, it makes for baking good cookies. I'd rather just buy a fresh fish at the store rather than stand on the dock all day hoping for a bite. Can someone write out the entire recipe or do I have to buy the book?
Why any white sugar, why not all brown?
These are so good the brown butter is a game changer.
Browned butter, just like in the new ATK Oatmeal Raisin cookie, who knew?
He's the living proof that baking won't solve depression.
I listened to the whole thing because you’re so good but I hope you don’t do that music like that ever again. Thank you for being so good. I will do as you say with my next cookies.
THAT BACKGROUND MUSIC IS TOO LOUD.
I love this man.
Wow, things that I never learned from anywhere else but here ❤️
This guy has taught me a lot! And I'm a cook. Also a former Masshole!
That would be Masshole if you are from Northern New England!!!!
