The last time I made soda bread (with 1/2 tsp salt and 3/4 tsp baking soda), and mixed the dry ingredients very well before adding the buttermilk, most of the salt settled to one side of the bottom of the loaf, making half of the bottom portion inedible. I even mixed the wet dough more than usual. Any idea what happened?
Wonderful
I made this yesterday and it was slightly dense. Is this bread suppose to be dense or did I probably do something g wrong???

What do you mean by Cooking Spray? Neuver heard of that. Is it oil?
Cool. I like the tinfoil idea. Circle of parch is good too. Now, Imma go make some.
Just made my own the way the old lady next door showed me 30 years ago no tinfoil or pan involved put right into the oven yummy and country butter 😊❤

Interesting there was no egg. Most recipes include an egg.
Vouloir French verb = wish want, to express desires. Viola string instrument of the violin family.

THIS is the best bread recipie in the world and I thank you for it….
I've tried this recipie 3 times now the exact same way the video shows but every time the dough is SUPER dry. Like you could barely call it dough. Idk what I'm doing wrong
Great video! I enjoyed the simplicity and your sense of humor. Thanks!
I know it’s not traditional, but I’m wondering if it could be baked in a bread loaf pan.

Looking at comment section were a random attempted suggestion kerrygold butter prompted searching for videos about Irish soda bread.
How does this dough work with such a high hydration percentage? I just tried a similar recipe and the dough was impossibly sticky, and it took a bunch of extra flour before it was able to be handled without turning my hands into dough-entombed seal flippers.
245 what ?
Turn that effing music off .
YUM!!! 🙂 One problem, actually 2, LOL I have one of those new oven, where I am not allowed to use foil paper, and 2 I do not own one of those great pans….too heavy for my old bones! 🙂
