Most ovens have a steam setting. Use that instead of drenching your bread it water. If you don't have a steam setting, then put a pot of water in the oven while it's preheating. And put the bread in. ( can also take a spray bottle and lightly mist the bread, can use this technique to get a better crust on normal breads)
The bread won't soak up to much water, it knows when it's enough. So much safer with steam. It's something we professional chefs do.
Easier way – wrap bread well in paper towel. Put in microwave for 15-20 seconds. Done! If very stale bread you can very lightly sprinkle with a little water before wrapping and nuking it.
I do this with snything bready and hard. Muffins from Costco are my usuals lol. They come to me like rocks, but run a splash of water ovet them and microwave them for a few seconds and they're just a tasty sponge 😍

Yay🎉 worked like a CHARM.. I'll never have to throw away another baguette again. Thanks for the tip
15 mins after turning on the oven or 15 mins after it gets to temp?
I live in Louisiana; if you don’t refrigerate your bread it’ll be moldy in 2 days. We don’t get stale we just get mold.
I do that and throw it in the air fryer for 4-5 minutes, comes out great

This is a great tip. I've noticed horst brrsd does get to hard to fast sometimes. Great save, thanks 😊
Should I wipe off the thick mold first? Also, how do I patch the holes that were eaten by mice? Thanks!😉
Just make panzanella salad.
If it just needs to be crisped up, 2-5 minutes in the owen at 200C does the trick.
At last! I feel smart! Lol.

I just wet it and put it uncovered right onto the rack in a 350°F preheated oven for 5-7 mins. Turns out great!
