This was so helpful, thank you so much! Very professional presentation!
Just set up my Jo Classic using your other video. Now I’m studying this one. I can’t thank you enough for sharing your expertise.
Merci pour la traduction en français ❤
@James, What size drip pan would you recommend for the big Joe 3 with the sloroller? Love the Vids! Great work!
Settings for daisy wheel on a Big Joe 1?
I just got a Series 1 on a deal, can someone please tell me how the Series 2 Kontrol Tower Top Vent setting translates to the Daisy wheel version. I coming from a weber kettle world. Thanks
Just the video I came to the internet for! Great video thank you!
Thanks very informative!!
This video has helped me so much on fire management. Thank you sir
If I put the deflector plates on top of the accessory rack do I then put my drip tray directly onto the deflector plates?
This video is gold – Thank you!
James, love the 3 tips. Struggling with #1 while using longer ( 6-10 hour ) double indirect cooks. Keep running low on charcoal on Med. BGE. Besides switching to KJ Classic size (already on wish list), is there a better way to stack of layer more lump to extend my cooking t8me without overcrowding my basket?
Your awesome!! This video doesn´t age! Thanks from Germany
I have been cooking on an open fire using wood as the fuel. Is it possible to use 100% wood on the Kamado or is that a hard no?
I there a huge difference between classic joe Series 1 vs Series II? I am wondering if the mesh wire gasket vs the felt one makes a huge difference? also the daisy vent on top vs the kamado control tower, is it worth it to purchase the kontrol tower if purchasing a joe series I?
Very good hands-on advice
I really haven't barbecued a lot in my life. Never owned a BBQ either.
But I have been watching your Joe videos and I kind of REALLY want a big Joe with ALL the accessories now!
Why did you do this to us 😂 I am going to name my first Joe after you and call it JM 🙂
Jokes aside, thanks for every LITTLE detail that you include. I really like all the stuff you explain.
Hey James, first time KJ and smoker here. Was recommended to follow your videos from the KJ group I joined on FB. Turns out I had already watched a few of your videos which were super helpful. Maybe I missed it but my question is which brand of wood chunks do you recommend? Thanks again and looking forward to seeing more of your videos!
what is the diameter of the Smokeware drip pan you are using?
good video, but when do I add my food? once it's come back to temp the second time after you've added all your accessories?
fantastic content dude, I've watched so many of your videos over the past day
Awesome video James! Do you have similar suggestions for KJ with the top that has vent holes instead of the slider top?
What a great video! I’m about to buy one and it made things very clear to what I thought was quite daunting! I’m about to buy a classic 3, but very tempted by the big Joe 3! Is the extra price really worth it? Thanks again!
What a high-quality video. +1 subscriber.
Excellent teaching thank u.
English is not my native language, but I understood everything you explained really well. Thanks for such amazing video, I've just bought my Kamado and I needed videos like this!
Hi! Thanks for you amazing videos 🎉
We’ve just bought the classic 1 – the vent at the top is different to the Joes you have. How can I adjust the setting with the daisy holes compared to your instructions for the third inch before/after the line?
Also, on first use this weekend, I struggled to get the temp up to 350F with both top and bottom vents fully open so not sure how I’ll get it higher. Should I try more charcoal next time?
Once again awesome stuff:)
Love your videos. Learned so much. Have you ever made a foil boat for the smoking wood to extend its cook time?
My Kemado Joe Classic is arriving tomorrow. I am new to using the kemado egg-style BBQ smoker so I have a lot to learn. Your deep dive into even just the charcoal and wood ratio set up as well as the rack and heat deflector set up is EXCELLENT. Thank you for taking the time to really explain everything. Your channel will be my Kemado Joe go-to channel for sure!
"1/3 of an inch" tell me you're canadian without telling me your canadian
why are these things $2000? JFC!
at 3:10 you say "too much smoke" like there is such thing, talking about unicorns
Thanks James! Been watching your channel for a while now, but finally got myself a classic 2 on crazy sale at HD. Just did my first cook last night. Wanted to try something simple, so went with burgers. Used your one finger bottom vent setting with fully open top vent. Figured the 400-450F range you mentioned you get would be perfect. Mine held exactly 500F, but I’m in Phoenix, so higher ambient temp. I GOT A SMOKE RING on my burger! Now I wish I would’ve sent you my BBQ problems questionnaire for you to come out here! Invitation is always out there if you want to get out of the Canadian cold!😂
What are your thought about useing a smoke tube vs chunk of wood
Ink you just changed my pettlet grill purchase to a komoto joe. Tha k You so much for the depth of your videos
Because of your channel I bought a Komado Joe Classic 1 and I am awaiting delivery hopefully this Saturday. I went out and bought the charcoal basket that comes with Classic 1 and 2 but I have a question, should I use the daisy wheel for the top vent or should I buy the new control tower device from Komado Joe?
Excellent explanation and demo. I was a bit daunted when putting the Kamado together and even moreso when I started to think about how to get cooking! – thanks! (Just waiting for the rain to stop and spring to arrive) :–)
Love the video! I’m looking forward to doing my first grill. Your videos are going to make the learning curve a lot shorter. Thanks for sharing!
Curious why you unlatch the lid when joe is off…?
Thanks for an amazing video. I am just wondering, are you bringing up to temp as per the video then shutting off bottom vent then putting the protein on the grill, closing the lid and then opening the bottom vent back up 1 finger. As I type this I'm guessing thats the case?
Thank you so much for this video. I managed to avoid a lot of issues because of this video and made a great brisket!
Excellent video!!! Thank you very much
