Youd be better to make a simple sugar syrup and soak them for about 5 days, i dont know why everyone is using soda, thats super gross. Soda is full of nonsense. Just make a simple cane sugar syrup. None of the added carcinogens and other horrible tbings they put in soda today. Its not even sweet it tastes like chemicals. Real sugar and nothing else is so much better for you and tastes even better too. Soda dehydrates you as well, its not a good thing to use as a base. 1 day isnt long enough to get rid of the bitterness especially with soda. Diet soda is actually even worse for you. Sweetness are carcinogenic and tastes horrible. Our society wants to take sugar from us to make us all depressed after feeding us nothing but sugar for 50 years. Now they want us eating fake lab made synthetic sweetners which are not healthy. You are better drinking a full fat soda in moderation than drinking a few cans of diet juice. Its a total con that theyve villainised sugar while promoting soda and Sweetners
