Trey Sanchez learned the art of BBQ from his father – but the art of Mexican cooking by traveling all over Mexico. Now at Vaqueros Texas BBQ he produces not just some of the best Texas BBQ in the state; but he also takes a unique approach to Mexican food by bringing smoke and BBQ into the authentic recipes of his heritage.

Cheers
Vaqueros is why I no longer pay attention to lists, this place is one of the best!
This is some of the BEST Q in North Texas/DFW. I've had Vaquero BBQ many times while at the Hop & Sting brewery in Lewisville. Dang good Q!!!! It's a little further out now but well worth it.
Trey and his dad Arnold are two of the best dudes. They serve up some of the best Texas BBQ. Go visit the new restaurant and you will know why all the awards and accolades.
Al this is another great video. His story is wonderful. I really enjoy the locations you have done. Keep up the great work. 🔥🍻🌤
Nice Video. Looks Great.

OMG, my mouth was watering like crazy watching this.
This is another great episode, Al! I like the idea of combining TX barbecue with Tex-Mex. Those tacos look amazing.
Great story, incredible food! I have been making my own brisket street tacos for years. And while watching this during lunch, I am actually eating brisket nachos! Nothing like his creations, though. One last thing back in college (mid 70's) I worked at a restaurant called The Outrageous Taco Company. Night shift on Fri /Sat/Sun until 4:AM as bars closed at 2:AM. We had a bowl of pickled jalapeños, carrots, and onions on the counter the customers could access to add to their Courageous Burritos and Courageous Tacos! Delicious! Well, today, I just learned so much more to add to my dishes! Thank you once again!
I have eaten many types of Taco across the Southwest but none that looked or tasted like these smoked tacos. I love my Carnitas and have had it prepared in many ways, but none as flavorful as these. Great story how it all cam together that makes me want to do a 3 month RV trip though Texas next spring. Keep up the videos!
Another great episode – thank you.
You must put so much research into these. We don’t see it, but it totally shows in what you produce.
Absolutely love these documentary style videos!
The gentleman from N. Texas BBQ Addicts mentioned they have 'alot to work to do' To get on the Top 50, don't they all? Vaqueros should have made that list!!!!!..Just from seeing this, there is no one in Texas offering what this place is offering as far as their tacos and their BBQ, top notch. The dad been serious since '79 and the son since '89. DECADES of experience. They deserve everything as far as acknowledgement as a true and deserving BBQ establishment. Should they get #1 on top 50? Yes, why not?? A group of 20 year olds did, a little place called Goldee's. Plus their pit area, sick! TRUE innovation and genius.
Vaqueros! I guessed it right from your other video. 😅. Another great video Al, this spot is great addition to the area. Luckily I went on a weekday and had no wait. Great food, friendly staff, and lots of space. Glad you’re highlighting DFW places
I’m going to try to make it over there for lunch this weekend 🤤
Loads of colour, loads of flavour, certainly on my must-try list – too many to name, basically every single thing – meat you there Al, and Lee – yummo for sure
Another interesting backstory woven into the food story. It's why we all love your channel Al
Food seems top class, and so does Trey. Hope to visit some day. Cheers from Norway.
Tried to eat there with friends last Saturday around 7:00. They were out of but about everything, they offered burgers. I was also suprised that the M Crowd (Mi Cocina) is a partner. I do want to try again sometime.
I want to eat there. Those flavors must be incredible. It's nice to see Kenneth too! What a great story too. Another addition to my bucket list. I could tell you were really enjoying the flavors.
