  1. In Texas, as you probably know, we only use a dry rub. If someone wants bbq sauce it’s on the side.
Basic rub is S-P-G (some add a few extra ingredients to rub) Some use mustard binder, some don’t. And that doesn’t change taste anyways. Would like to see a control of basic Texas style vs. Rodney Scott style. 🤔

  2. Wouldn’t that be considered a mop sauce or like some Texans call it sop sauce. My uncle used to make a sauce similar to this years ago but for brisket and chicken. I wish I remembered everything he used but he’s the same, didn’t like to say what he uses.

  3. Why would you do that??? the Scott's formulated that recipe years ago and like he said, put a lot of love into the recipe. if it is not patented it probably should be to protect them against people like you. And he don't need to explain what is in his sauce. if you ask me he said to much already. you are wrong. you do not divulge a successful established restraint's recipe.

  4. I am cooking (for Dad's on Father's day) 16 slabs of ribs tomorrow along with butts and chickens. I will mop for 1/2 to 3/4 of the cook time. Then I use a thicker sauce and raise the heat a bit on the chickens and ribs. The butts, I will probably pull them apart after bringing to temperature. Then into a pan with the mop sauce. Again raise the heat a bit so it simmers (kind of a burnt end effect). I may try a rub sometime instead of the thicker sauce. Thanks for the idea.

  5. Wow, I just watched a video a out a guy trying to make a sauce he has never tasted and doesn’t have the recipe to, then claiming he made it the same as the recipe…. I need to go outside, the internet is dead.

  6. FYI, unless you like Alzheimer's I wouldn't be cooking ANYTHING acidic in a aluminum cookware… vinegar, lemon juice, tomatoes, all that stuff combines with aluminum to produce chemicals that can be absorbed then stored in the body like other heavy metals are, but Aluminum is particularly bad for brain health.

  7. absolutely brutal with the dog, shame on you. Poor thing can smell every molecule in the room and there you sit and eat in front of it. I'm calling PETA lol ( most prolly going to have some issues with the ribs haha). One last thing, who finished the rest??
