Produce Department Manager’s Banana Bread Recipe (from @sprouts)

Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
4 overripe bananas

¾ cup unsalted butter (1 ½ sticks), melted & cooled
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Lightly grease the baking pan.
3. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in a large bowl.
4. With an electric mixer, mix 2 bananas and sugar together in a separate bowl (3 mins).
5. Add melted butter, eggs, and vanilla to banana/sugar mixture, mix well.
6. Fold in dry ingredients (do not over mix).
7. Mash two other bananas and then add to the bowl (do not over mix).
8. Pour batter into a greased pan and bake for 1 hour 15 mins. Bread should be golden brown and insert a toothpick (toothpick should come out dry).

  1. I’ve made banana bread many of times and to save everyone time, this is a recipe you can absolutely combine every ingredient into one bowl. Mash the bananas with the sugar, eggs and vanilla, then add the flour, baking soda, powder and salt with a splash of milk and cinnamon.

  2. There use to be a small bulk bin store in my town, the location was a little hidden so they closed , but what I loved is they had a massive section for bananas that were baddddd but great for banana bread and they would market it like “got a bake sale coming up? Come grab some” and it was so nice
