Every filipino family has their own version of adobo.
My family has 3. My Tito Boy loves his adobo with potatoes and extra sabaw (broth), my dad makes his extra dry with a thick sauce, lola makes hers with hard boiled eggs, potatoes, pork and chicken, and diced chicken liver.
I think anywhere there's usa navy presence, there will be adobo.
I dont have an instant pot 😢
If you rinse the onion it won't make you cry. Mahalo for sharing!❤
Too much talking very slow presentation
oh your onion is big better for beefsteak (Tagalog steak)!
Stick to the receipe woman, and less talk
Great presentation and cooking lesson. I might give it a try in my IP. Not sure if I'll first do chicken or pork. Thank you. Cheers! 🙂
I fond there is no need for the horizontal cuts… the layers of the onion allows it to break up. Use the dull side of the knife to clean off your garlic crusher. A good sharp knife will trim the aluminum of the garlic press. My step mom taught me how to make adobo on the stove. Thanks for the insta pot tips!
Onion?! 😂😂
You forgot the 3 important ingredients – “magic sarap”, oyster souse and pork cubes. Without this pork adobo will NEVER taste the same no matter how you try
Traditionally, Filipino does not have onions, but a lot of garlic instead
I have made chicken adobo for years but adobo made this way is SO GOOD. I used half shoyo half vinegar like my chicken recipe and also used almost a whole head of garlic. Amazing. So tender, so delicious, and I didn't even brown the meat first cuz I had no time and had to get the food on da table!
Wow glad I found your channel. Good to see a local video cause I know you know how the stuff is supposed to taste lol.
Thanks!
This is my favorite adobo recipe video. Made this last month and my husband and aunty LOVED it!! I’m making it again this week 🥰 Thank you!
Thanks for the great video and recipe! Food looks delicious! Great history lesson from Hawaii!
Hi. I want to try this tomorrow, but i have just one questions. Is there enough liquid in the pot? My Instant Pot manual says it has to be at least 1 cup of liquid for pressure cooking. Is it ok if i use less? (0.75, in this case). thx.
oh mylanta. try add potatoe cubes and shmall kine patis
This is EXACTLY what I was looking for!!!!!!! Thank youuuuuuuuuu! subscribes
5:42 the secret: have a wet rag right next to the onion while you are cutting it….the moisture of the rag will attract the onion chemical before it hits your eyes 🙂
Hey cousin howzit. Just starting to learn how to use the instant pot I just seen what you whip up the adobo so I can try them I subscribe to see what else more Hawaiian dishes you make or practically highland dishes from all the ethnic groups. I got a question can you make squid luau in the instant pot.
More more garlic and a spoonful of brown sugar wont hurt 🙂 Vinegar is best if Coconut or Cane Vinegar
Lots of Filipinos in tourism and healthcare in Hawaii

Im from Kaneohe but now I stay in okc, been here for awhile and I miss home. I stumbled across your Instagram to make chicken adobo and I really appreciate how you explain everything and keep it simple. I love your vibe! Cheeeee
Mahalo for everything – keep doing what your doing!!
Hi Relle, I stumbled onto this video and while watching, I realized I have all the ingredients at home… So I decided this is dinner! Sautéing the pork as I write this and am enjoying the video. Greetings from Berlin, Germany! I have subscribed!
When I read the written instructions I feel confused when comparing it to the video. There’s no way that was only 1 lb of pork and that was 1/2 of a very large onion, not a small one.
You rock girl. I have tried several adobo recipes and its supposed to be simple but none turned out to my liking until i tried your recipe. The biggest difference is the use of the pressure cooker. I didnt have to add water to boil the meat for an hour as u would in a regular pot. This recipe gave me the real adobo flavors and aroma. More power to you.
You are good great representative of Hawaii
Adobo, rice, kimchi and Mac salad 🌺🤤
Trying this tonight ! mahalo 🤙🏽
Dont need to mince your onions, just quarter it then put them all in.
I can't wait for my family to try this never made Adobo before
This recipe is very good!
Fada filipino, Mada hapa haole, pops cooked mostly in our house small kid time, now I get my own fam and I cook in our ha'le like dad. Great channel 🤙
Going to try this!! Salamat
I cut my onions the exact same way, the Adobe looks fantastic, and didn't have to take all day using the instapot.
OK, JUST A HINT! SHARPER KNIVES! DO NOT SCRAP GARLIC FROM PRESS WITH THE BLADE, USE THE BACK
Ayyy! Even a little HI Hx. Will have to make this STAT
PLEASE RESEARCH 'CANOLA' OIL, THAT STUFF IS NASTY BAD FOR YOU. LOVE ADOBO!
