James, just started watching your channel and it is amazing. I am building an Outside Kitchen and this has been the most helpful video out there. In your previous tables you put the Kamado's inside holes cut in the granite (that surrounded the Kamado). Why did you go with a more open approach in the new cabinets? Is the non-surround Kamado just as safe?
James quick question that I didn’t see. What are the dimensions of the big Joe section. I cannot find anywhere with width and depth dimensions for me to build something similar to this and make sure I make it big enough.
Ahh found this beautiful video! Posted a comment in another video of yours. Here I got all the info I needed for dimensions! Thanks so much for sharing this! 🙏
Wouldn't repeatedly calling the fire department for a fireplace (if the fire place is legal) be considered false reports and get your neighbor a ticket?
Love your outdoor kitchen! Thanks for all the details of your design. As water becomes more costly, maybe a outdoor kitchen solves that problem. I have often wondered about using smoke and wood to cook with outside and not getting in trouble with the Fire department or EPA in the States that have no burn days. What I found out from Fire department, that if you are cooking you are allowed to use wood and smoke to cook with all the time. Using wood fire for heat is not allowed on no burn days and a lot of cities don't allow outside fires.
On your fan, I am assuming you have it set to move air up vs. blowing down toward you? I just installed a fan and I’m trying to decide the best way to use the fan to dissipate the smoke from my covered grill area. Thanks!
Thanks very much for sharing James, our NZ winter is not as cool as your however we get rain so the studio would be a great fit for us as well. I appreciate the measurements you provided and will start getting organised for a kiwi version of your setup 🙂
Looks great! Can you name that fan and size being used? Did you contemplate going larger on the fan or is it the perfect size?
James, THX for your amazing videos. Just startet to watch them all, while planning an outdoorkitchen by myself. But haven‘t read something about heat near the Kamado. Does the ceramic absorb much of the Heat. The reason why I ask, is a wooden fence, which is located 10 Inches away.
Thanks James! This is so helpful. Curious how the height on the BJ worked out for your Joetisserie. Was 21" enough/too much to clear the counter? Thanks!
Hi James, how hot does it get on the surface of the granite underneath the joe when you cook a pizza or when you clean your joe? If you could read it with your IR pen or something. I’m looking to see what type of concrete i need to use so it doesn’t brake and drop the joe on the ground 🙂
Wish I had a Nature cast style company in Australia, all that seems to be available here is cheap looking aluminium pressed modular cabinets, or stainless. If somebody knows otherwise please let me know
Great Job!!!! Where is the garbage can and paper towel holder, lol? I love the previous overhang pergola (against brick wall) that would be perfect for my space. Did you design that? Have plans for it?
I am very curious to see how the smoke / grease issue plays out as time goes on. I have a similar type of porch, perhaps a little larger, with a commercial type hood over my TEC gas grill and it collects a LOT of grease. I'd like to replace the TEC grill with the Kamado Big Joe that I now have and I'm wondering if the hip roof is going to wind up collecting the same amount of grease that the hood currently does. I also have a ceiling fan but based on the amount of grease that I see my hood collecting I sincerely doubt it's going to push most of the smoke and grease out of the structure. Please let us know what happens as you move forward!
I was wondering if you had thought about building with concrete block?
My husband is planning a build and want a 1st time win 😂😂 love the mistake video and this reveal 🙌🏼
Hi Janes, I like the thought you put behind the dimensions of the kamado boxes. What brand are the drawers at the bottom of each box?
Hello from Texas James, you have done a great job and hope you really are enjoying your new outdoor space. I've been watching many of your videos. Recently bought a Joe Jr. but have not had an opportunity to break it in but will soon. Really enjoying the content and your presentation is very good. Thanks for all the tips!
Great stuff James! I love the Grill Studio! Looks fantastic!
Quick question, I just received my Classic 3 and was looking at the Smokeware Drip Pan. Would you recommend the 12 or 14? Thanks!
Awesome set up!
Looks fantastic! How far off the ground did you raise the Big Joe to get it the proper height?
Out of your Dalstrong knives, If you could only have one, which would it be!
That grill space is fucking gorgeous brah! Awesome job.
Fantastic design James a wealth of information thank you so much. looking forward to seeing all your next cooks.
Great project. I am inspired. One feature I'd like to build into my outdoor kitchen is easy access to storage for wood and Charcoal. How did you address this? Also do you have an ash can near by? I currently use an old webber JR as my ashcan. Thank you!
This is sooo good on soooo many levels. Congrats James – and thanks for sharing!!
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! As I love seeing little glimpse of your yard in other videos, I was hoping you would eventually do a video. Thanks again for sharing!
Congratulations that looks very nice, clean and elegant, question? How did you remove the side rack on the Kamado Joe Big 3? What did you use to cover those holes? Did you use a different screws?
The new setup looks great! Thanks for sharing.
What time information can you share about your heaters? How have they performed? We just built a covered space and am looking into heaters.
