My first experience with Louisiana petrol station food was out of this world. There was a bit of a language barrier, but it didn't matter bc that's still some of the best fried chicken and biscuits I've ever had!

Kinda looks like a pasty but deep fried, next time you make this try using shortcrust or puff pastry, egg-wash it then bake it. Buttery flaky pastry with a delicious filling, same filling taste, different texture!
Im from Lake Charles in Calcasieu Parish. I miss my Louisiana meat pies, Boudin/ Boudin balls, fresh Cracklins and Zapp's Voodoo Chips. All at almost any convenient store on whatever block.
