Smoked Brisket Deviled Eggs are my Texas BBQ twist on a southern classic. We start by boiling eggs just as you would do in the traditional method. However we remove the shells and smoke the eggs to get a great taste and color. Alternatively, you can simply smoke the eggs from their raw state, but it takes longer and I do not like the shape of the egg that you are left with so I landed on this method. We combine the yolks with some traditional deviled eggs accompaniments, and add smoked brisket. We add some Meat Church The Gospel BBQ rub instead of paprika and top them with our traditional pickled onions.

I have my eggs on the smoker right now!
silly Americans thought they could take the 4 nations. Bbq looks great Matt
With those pickled onions, these look amazing!
You never disappoint.
Hey folks, lemme say, I seriously _love your channel. The next recipe is better than the last and they are all , at the very least, outstanding.
As far as the eggs to be boiled go, I really, _really wished you would have gone into more detail. The fact is that older eggs are easier to peel than fresher eggs. Me personally, being who I am, sought out the absolute best, freshest eggs to make my boiled egg dishes with. Tragedy! Fresh eggs simply don't make a great boiled egg! Get yourself some of those eggs that have been in your fridge for at least three weeks and use those. You will be amazed at the contrast between the quality, fresh eggs and the plebeian older eggs.
TL;DR buy old eggs and let them age in your fridge before boiling them.
Man, I wish I liked hard-boiled eggs. Can’t make this one, Matt, but I love watching you work…
definitely needed Hellman's mayo
Hockey and smoked meats? Love it! I'm definitely a new fan!!!
Great video but tregger is just over priced and not anymore superior to any other pellet smoker.
However those look absolutely delicious.
Pittsburgh Penguin Legend – Billy G
Just finished up making a round of these 20 minutes ago. Just like you said, the texture of the actual egg itself is something I have a tough time getting past but outside of that everything was delicious. I smoked a fresh brisket last night as well and chopped that up to add to the deviled eggs. I probably wouldn’t do it again only because I’m weird on texture and that egg texture just doesn’t sit with me haha. But outside of that, I loved it!
She’s high high high😂😂😂
I'd love to see you going around and trying and talking about the Texas Monthly top spots and talking to the pit masters. Call it the Pitt Stop.
Question for you Matt, was the outer skin rubbery? I’d estimate that it would be. Guessing
Unfortunately smoking them like this made the bottoms hard where the grill grates were
Holy Cow Matt, the biggest hit ever for Easter. Only wish I had made more!!
😎💯👍your gonna poop your pants man….👍💯😎
I've been making smoked deviled deviled eggs for about 10 years, and they are always a huge hit. I halve them and remove the yolks before smoking for maximum surface area. I them cold smoke for about 4 hours.
Just made these today. They are amazing. I have a Zgrills with supersmoke @160°.
Do you have a link for that devil egg board?
these looked g double O D !

7:35 NHL version of shooter Mcgavin
These definitely sound like a great twist on a classic.
Deviled eggs is a southern thing. I grew up on them in Texas.
Eggs come out of a chicken`s butt. I don't eat anything that comes out of anythings butt.
Eggs are cheap when you have your own chickens
that’s so funny, I must be religiously following you because I planned to do smoked deviled eggs last week!
Steam your eggs, peels effortlessly
Getting ready to do a slight variation on this for Easter. Brining the eggs in pickle juice and ground dry smoked habaneros for two weeks. Then onto the smoker for the eggs and will top with small chunks of burnt ends.
Great recipe, one thing i do a little different that you could benefit from is affer hard boiking and peeling, i cut eggs in half, leaving the yolk in and then put on the smoker, that way the entire egg has uniform color, and the yolk also gets smoke flavor for the filling
That was very nice of you to have a Shooter Mcgavin feature
I'm pretty sure that's Shooter McGavin….
Small world Matt!
I was the Asst Equipment Manager for the Oilers for years.
I remember traveling to Dallas when Dave Smith was the Equipment guy and I think one of the dressing room guys was nicknamed Pig? lol
Billy G was one of the guys we have in common as he was an Oiler as well.
Loved this story and surprise! 😊
Finley chopped habanero in the mix is killer good.
OMG magical. I have a recipe for Deviled Eggs with a Kick that leverages Sriracha and Smoked Paprika topped with a pickled jalapeño , but no other protein … this I will definitely make!
Skip hard boiling. Just throw the raw eggs on the smoker longer.
They taste a little odd when eaten plain, but when mixed into deviled eggs the texture is far superior and the smokes not overwhelming
Awesome video, but I've been doing smoked deviled eggs for years now. I recommend boiling the eggs pealing them and then cutting in half. Place them on a wire rack and cold smoking them for about an hour. Now not only do you have smoke flavor on the whites but the yokes have had time exposed to the smoke making the filling have an awesome smoke flavor too.
Cool Matt, Red Wing guy here, still playing at 60 years old. Played against Billy a few times he sure was a tough player! Cheers!
Omg! I need these in my life!
I like to make my deviled eggs first and then smoke them, they stay a little softer and the yolk filling gets a nice color and texture on the outside but soft on the inside. Thanks for the video!
I loved Bill Guerin when he played for the Penguins! That is awesome that you know him!
