The first time I ever heard of that I thought someone had done lost their mind. But I made one for someone's birthday at their request, and when I tasted it (reluctantly), I was pleasantly surprised… It was good!
I was using the same ingredients for a mayo and when I realised I just emulsified them, then added the dry ingredients, the result was a more moist and bouncy cake.
You can also use applesauce. Does the same thing as mayo with less fat, which is something I am certain everyone eating chocolate cake is concerned about 😏
I usually asd boiling coffee ☕️ to my chocolate cakes, but maybe I'll try mayo next time.

You know what makes my cake rise? Dan😊
Mayo is disgusting and all these people cramming it into recipes where it doesn't belong, like grilled cheese and cakes, should be arrested.
I liked the crazy cake better. I could always taste the mayo in the mayo cake.
With all the crap mayo is made of these days, its a hard pass. I'm sure 40-50 yrs ago mayo was better quality, I know it tasted better back then.

the eggs and oil in the Mayo makes perfect sense to me, I'm just a little off but by the vinegar in the mayo.
