Mongolian Ground Beef and Noodles

This Mongolian Ground Beef and Noodles recipe combines tender beef, savory soy and hoisin sauce, and chewy noodles in a rich, glossy glaze. Quick, flavorful, and family-friendly, it’s the perfect 30-minute weeknight dinner bursting with Asian-inspired flavor and irresistible sesame aroma.

Caraway Cookware:

Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
16 oz bucatini noodles (spaghetti or lo mein will do)
¼ cup soy sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon ginger, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
1 cup green onions, chopped
2 cup beef broth plus more of needed
1 tablespoon cornstarch (mixed with 2 tablespoons water to make a slurry)
Sesame seeds for garnish

Directions:

1. Cook the noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
2. In a large skillet on medium high add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
3. Add the minced garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes, and sesame oil to the skillet with the beef. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
4. Stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, and beef broth. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
5. Add the cornstarch slurry to the skillet and stir until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
6. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet and toss to coat them evenly with the sauce. Add more broth if needed to desired sauciness.
7. Stir in the chopped green onions.
