Hey there folks, it’s your favorite dad here and today I’m bringing you a review on the Ninja Woodfire Outdoor Grill. Now, I know what you’re thinking, “Dad, you’re not exactly known for your outdoor cooking skills,” but hear me out.
I’ve been grilling up a storm on this bad boy for the past few months and I gotta say, I’m pretty impressed. It’s got all the bells and whistles you could want in a grill – a wood-fired oven, a smoker, a rotisserie, and even a built-in karaoke machine (okay, maybe not that last one, but a dad can dream).
So, is it worth your hard-earned money? Well, let’s just say that my neighbors have been smelling my delicious BBQ from a mile away and even they’re considering getting one for themselves. Plus, my wife is happy that I’m finally cooking dinner instead of just microwaving frozen pizzas.
So, if you’re in the market for a new grill and want to impress your family and friends with your newfound grilling skills, then the Ninja Woodfire Outdoor Grill is definitely worth checking out. And if you happen to invite me over for a BBQ, I promise I’ll bring my best dad jokes and maybe even some karaoke tunes (if we can’t find the built-in machine, that is).
Don’t forget to hit that “Subscribe” button and ring that notification bell, because you won’t want to miss a second of the dad-approved fun! Let’s get grillin’! 🍔🌭🔥

I have it too. Only complaint is the steel plates (grease drip guides) seen on either side of the lid towards the bottom when it is in the opened position (as seen here 12:10). They don't work at all. Grease drips right through the cracks and completely misses the drip tray. It makes a huge mess on the plastic handles on the OUTSIDE of the grill… for no great reason other than Ninja must not have done quality control or they just don't care that grease gets everywhere but in the tray.
Can i use a portable power source…lets say to take it to a park and if so how many watts would i need to purchase the power pack
I like this guy. "Have I mentioned the 'stinking up your house thing'?" Funny.
my ninjia woodfire grill will not cook with lid open???????
tried with grill open on grill setting says i have to close lid
Finally made the move and ordered one from Costco today!
I’ve never had any food that has been “smoked.” I’m wanting a bbq grill taste for a hamburger, chicken, pork chop. Does this provide that taste?
I wanted to buy it, but it's not designed for steaks as the temperature doesn't get high enough for steaks 🙁 So I am looking into Webber unit that gets to 600F and it's bigger too . I am curious if I can just implement my own "wood fire technology" by wrapping those pellets in tin foil an putting in on a grill.
Outstanding!!!!!!!
it's rare to find reviews from someone who actually used the product. Thanks very much.
Can you use the basic grill features indoors like a Foreman Grill?
Great video . I was getting ready to return this puppy after using it one time.
I just received the small Ninja for Christmas. Last night was my first experiment. What I found is I couldn’t get the cheese to melt on top of the burgers. The heat was drawn out. Is there a hack to melt cheese on burgers?
Can I use the air fryer in the house?
Got one for Christmas it’s a beast !!!
Might try warming it up a bit for cleaning
Take the word "honestly" out of your jargon. You saying it a lot raises some suspicion. Honest people do not need to say "honestly"
The Kona Pellets are more expensive now.
Just ordered mine! Excited to cook fish because I cannot stand cooking seafood in the house.
Red flag…he says uses it a few times a month…had it 6 months.. then says ive smoked a ton and still have lots of pellets left. So is the rest of his review BS too??
Use a steam cleaner.
Great video. I just picked this up today on sale. Can't wait to try it
Thanks for adding temp! I would also like to see super hot – for Neapolitan 🍕 ❤❤
Great video! Thanks
Ninja indoor grill vs outdoor grill???
New subscriber. Thanks for sharing!
Can you cook small Turkey?
Barbecuing is definitely not hard to learn bro and Brussel sprouts and chicken don’t smell bro
baloney
I have recently learned about this and have been tempted to buy one e. Thanks for your input!
Good video idea for you. Try jerky on grill vs air fry basket. Im curious of the difference. Ive always used the basket on the smoker setting for jerky. Never tried the dehydrate function.
You might have to change the plate for a sear setting since non-stick isn't heat safe really passed medium+ temperatures.
I am enjoying mine! We live in a 38’ camper year round and the small foot print is great! Well worth the money and convenience!
It’s just too expensive for the size. You can get a really good pellet grill with seer feature for the same price. I would go with a gravity charcoal grill over this for $400.
Thanks I just became a ninja product reviewer. I got the grill for free as well after viewing your video .. now I’m getting a bunch of free stuff I don’t have to review ..👍👍
Nice video! I ended up getting it but I’d say, The ninja smoker definitely cooks some good smoked food but there’s a major learning curve to it. If you smoke you meats with the smoker setting, I’d recommend letting the smoker run for about 10 mins after pre-heat before putting in any of your food otherwise it will get that white smoke and your food will taste bitter and unpleasant.
I AM GUESSING FROM THIS REVIEW, IF YOU WERE BUYING ONE TODAY, YOU’D GO WITH THE NEWER XL MODEL? ALSO HAVE YOU NOTICED ANY BURNING OR RUINING OF THE SURFACE YOU HAVE THE GRILL SETTING ON? JUST ANOTHER QUESTION ABOUT THE GRILL AND PLATES, HOW DO THEY HOLD UP WITH METAL UTENSILS? OR ARE YOU NOT RECOMMENDED DOING CHOPPING OR CUTTING ON IT, LIKE YUO HAD MENTIONED IN THE VIDEO?
You can use a steam cleaner on any electric item
this thing sucks to clean. I want to know how to get the caked-on grease from the fan out.
Of course, they now have an XL version. Would love to get a review of that one
What extension cord did you use?
Can I use it in a cold Canadian winter? Will it stand up to the cold?
But does it have that charcoal flavor? I use a charcoal grill (never gas) because of the charcoal taste it gives the meat. If it does I would get one.
i have a small space in the city so i can't have a proper grill or anything that spews fire for that matter, i can't help but wonder how does this stack up to cooking on actual coal/wood. does the meat get that lovely char that distinguishes it from something that's oven-cooked? i understand that i can't be 100% 1 to 1 to real fire, but does it even come close? because the sceptic in me makes it sound like it's a high powered contact grill without the top plate but with a smoker.
for context, i'm from eastern europe where there is very little of american grill culture but a lot of cooking meat on wood, hence my hesitation
I contacted Ninja and BBQ guys yesterday,21 Aug 23, bout the pro connect xl. I asked a simple question- what is the length and width in inches for the actual cooking area where the food is placed on. Neither could answer this simple question; totally got smoke blown up my six. Just to add Ninja and BBQ guys list the max temp for the pro connect XL at 500 F. If anybody has the pro connect XL will you please measure the length and width of the actual cooking surface. thanks
New subscriber here… Thanks for a great review. Ninja heard your request and just recently released a Woodfire Pro Connect XL and I will definitely be jumping on that model. Supposedly it has 30% more cooking capacity and 700 degree temp, alone with other cool features. This seems like an opportunity for a seared you’re looking for….. I can’t wait to see your review and input on this newer model.
How does it work outside in the cold air in the winter??
