Mary Thank You for a wonderful easy recipe! I made your bread last night & tasted it this a.m. & Wow!! Yum!! Love it! I used the double batch like you made, but I had to use a giant 15" Lodge iron frying pan to bake it in because I don't have any proper bread size loaf pans. The bread still came out fantastic although wide and disc shaped. I'll be using some as an ingredient in our Thanksgiving stuffing, & also for our turkey sandwiches on the day after! –definitely a 'Keeper' recipe.
Have you ever used fresh yeast? I've seen a few folks use the fresh yeast and wondered if it's any better or worse.

The bread dough looks to wet, 6 cups flour, 1 TBsp salt and sugar, 2 -1/2 Tsp yeast, 3 cups warm water and 4 TBsp butter. can i just add more flour? it look more like pancake mix. the print out instructions say 2 TBsp of butter. I'm confused
