In this video I compare the Rider DLX vs the Pit Boss 1100. Now this was a very hard video for me to make because I like both of these cookers but one of them does win but just barely! I have answered this question for many times that I figured I would do a video on it and you can make your own decision on what one fits you better!! Thanks for watching and I hope this video helps!!

I just picked up a used rider with a bad controller and the guy told me he changed the controller 3 times before bc of igniter problems so I threw a pit boss controller on it instead.
To clean the pitboss 850 pro grates I take a black bin with yellow top from Costco put the grates in, spray with pit boss degreaser and easy off for grills let set 10 minutes, next put dawn in container fill with some hot water let sit 10 minutes, use steel wool and kitchen sponge everything wipes right off very easy. I do this after each cook I also put foil completely covering the whole bottom of the barrel half way up and I wrap the heat deflector also. Doing this makes clean up easy.
I also don’t put the meat directly on the grates unless searing otherwise some little container that are disposable from Amazon. Again easy clean up. I don’t cook on a dirty machine and do what I can to make clean up easy.
Great video
Shirley Fab is a great smoker
Good luck if you get a Oklahoma joes , in have them experience with both n the Oklahoma joes does work at all
Pit Boss has 5-year warranty. OK Joe only two. Argh.
Great video I love the entertainment
Appreciate the video, well edited, well done!!
Literally you are my go to as I try to decide which pellet grill to go with.
I bought the rider dxl and it’s absolutely a pile of hot garbage
On my T2 1000 has the big iron wheels
Ricer how many pellet grills do you have ?
The sear plate isn't big enough for several steaks
On my T2 1000 is hotter on the smoke stack side.
I have two of the fly zappers .
Good information but holy shit your camera changing is gonna seize me out.
Alright, just found you and i'm loving your stuff! Super simple question, I do a LOT of propane grilling. Steaks, Korean BBQ< but mostly steaks (and they're damn good, too!) – Is it easy enough to turn one of these bad boys on for a simple steak? Don't worry, i'll be doing pork butt and brisket too, just use to grilling steaks a few times a week quickly – thanks man!
Be on the lookout in the coming months for the OJ DLX 2022 models aka their gen 2's. Just spoke to them today and they updated the auger to nix their auger issues (now calling it the pit 2.0 with higher torque) and a new control panel/system (one much smaller and more polished beautiful knob and a landscape placed screen with buttons set by themselves not under said screen) with the first ever dual temp sensors in any pellet grills out there. They said they should be in Lowes replacing the older models soonish, some places having already done so per rep. Pretty stoked about it if it fixes most of the issues from the gen 1's (like yours in this video) and to see if you can tell a noticeable difference in internal build quality if you pick one up.
lol !
do you have any videos of you cooking on the Oklahoma DLX? Looking to buy a pellet smoker, but can't make up my mind.
My pit Boss had flare ups all the time ..I couldn't trust it..the last thing I wanted was to watch a brisket smoke for 10 hours..today I bought Oklahoma Joe's for $249.00
