This One Hour Soft Sandwich Bread recipe is one of my very favorites! It is homemade, soft sandwich bread, made from scratch, and ready in under an hour! It is the perfect recipe to make when you are short on time and need to get some bread ready in a hurry. These 2 loaves took me exactly 56 minutes to make from start to finish! So bread making can be easy and not time consuming! This recipe has saved me many times when I have forgotten to get bread started earlier in the day. Follow the simple step by step directions (easy enough for a beginner!), and have 2 loaves of bread ready in under an hour!!! Try it and let me know how you like this easy bread recipe!

Robyn on the Farm’s One Hour Soft Sandwich Bread Recipe: (makes 2 loaves of bread)
2 c hot water (105-110 degrees)
1/4 c sugar or honey
1 1/2 Tbsp yeast (active dry or instant)
2 Tbsp melted butter or oil
5 to 5 1/2 c bread flour (start with 5 and add 1/4-1/2 more until your dough isn’t sticking)
1 1/2 tsp salt
Add ingredients in order listed to mixer or bowl. Knead on speed 2 for 5 minutes (or hand knead for 10 mins). Cover with warm, wet tea towel for 20 minutes. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees during this time. Divide dough and form into 2 loaves. Place in well-oiled bread pans and put directly into the oven (no 2nd rise required!). Bake for 28-30 minutes (your preference). In less than an hour, your 2 loaves of amazing, soft, fluffy sandwich bread are ready for you to enjoy!!!

  1. Love this! I’ve been restocking my freezer with homemade bread, hotdog, hamburger buns, sub rolls. We finally got a small break from the heat so I’m taking advantage of that. Thanks for the recipe! I’ll certainly give this a go!
