I can confirm this is good advice minus the pronunciation of haemul pajeon. The beginning is more like "ha" from hay
If your banchan is not complimentary, you're probably not at a "Korean" restaurant..
Can you please also do this for Indian restaurants serving north Indian food? I always feel like a n00b! You've covered Sri Lankan stuff with hopper, please do something similar with the regions of India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh too…
Please please make more of theseeeeeeeee and for other cuisines
Not really down to take advice from someone who looks like they hit that glass roses a few times a day.
I never saw a waiter cook the meat for me, i did it myself
Excellent video, but too short, there's more to learn! It should have been a longer video. BTW In CZ, Germany and Europe in general sides are complimentary. Welcome to Brexit.
To know the best cheap but still good quality places are it is best to make friends with a mama-san in that area. Taking the old lady out to eat for her information will still be cheaper than most high tourist restaurants.
Get him in pass it on along with kush and Ben
This! More of this!
Please do other ethnicities! I feel so lost when I walk into an Indian restaurant so I just end up getting the one thing on the menu I recognize
Actually in the US at most korean restaurants, the Banchan is complimentary.
Good advice. Have you guys ever thought of hitting a few more London markets like Leadenhall for example? There”s been a market there since the 1300’s apparently.
Since you guys Introduced me to jolly I've been watching korean englishman as well so i feel well prepared 😊
Who the heck is this malnourished guy?
This all sounds like too much
Better yet… Make Korean food at home for much less
I have never in my life been to a Korean barbecue place where they cook the meat for you, that's really interesting. To be fair, I've only been to Korean BBQ places in the United States and in Japan, but I didn't even know they existed where people cook them for you.
If a Korean restaurant isn't offering complementary banchan, get out. It ain't a proper Korean restaurant…
I live in such a small town in the coastal US, that we don't even HAVE a Korean bar b que in less than an hour drive. Dang!
Hi Sorted Team, you should check our Arron & Clair on YouTube. Aaron is a trained Korean chef Clair his wife is his taste tester. All cooking is done in their kitchen, he cooks, she eats & washes up. Love watching them & really love ❤️ sorted. 🥰🇦🇺
Seriously, great advice! Would love to see with various different cuisines. I think people worry about ordering things if they aren't very familiar, and this was so helpful
So I wont feel? Definitely gonna try that
Thank you Tom Grennan, very cool
Nah fuck off with this dude
If banchan is not complimentary, then you can avoid those restaurants. Banchan is essential to any Korean meal and any sane Korean owner will provide a standard complimentary banchan set. Extra may cost extra, but they must provide some at least. Otherwise, it's an insult. (From a Korean)
Nice Tipps thank you
Always pick non-marinated meats first so your hot plates don't get dirty as fast.
I don't mean to be rude, but who is this? I didn't realize this was a Sorted video at first because it wasn't something I had seen before.
Banchan rarely complementary outside of Korea? Maybe in the UK. I've only ever encountered it as part of the meal (and not just with BBQ) in the US.
In our Korean BBQ all side dishes are complementary and you can pick them from a buffet, it’s a lot of fun.
I buy ssamjang all the time. It's not hot and FULL of flavour. Buy it
Talkin a little too fast. I dont understand a lot of this clip unless i listen several times.
Rice paper or pickled radishes are offered in the places around here in SoCal (not sure how traditional they are). They're super nice to wrap around the meat bites but sometimes you have to ask for them.
Slater! What happened to your Tiktok? I'm sad to see the fridge raid lunches disappear
Horrible advice. Only order expensive meat when it's all you can eat (like boneless beef short rib) to get your money's worth.
Thank you, this is great advice! I've been too intimidated by the menus at Korean restaurants in this past.
