This rich, creamy potato soup is delicious was deemed one of the best things I’ve cooked all year by Mrs. Meat Church. It is inexpensive, goes a long way and fills up the hungriest of appetites. We find that red, white or Yukon gold potatoes are the best choice. They hold their shape after cooking better than russet potatoes which are better suited for baked or mashed potatoes.
In this video we cook outside, but this soup can be prepared on your stove!

I made this soup last night. I liked it but wasn’t excited but having it for lunch today, it really is very good and I’ll make it again. Thanks for sharing this one!
Matt. Holy Cow! That looks amazing! So check this out! That is what I make after St. Patrick's feast. Instead of bacon of which I think ill use this year in combination with the corned beef brisket. I add some carrots to it as well and talk about phenomenal!
Made this yesterday and WHAT A HIT! Thank you!!!
Just went and bought the Blanco seasoning. Made a batch of soup, my wife had a bowl. Now she’s sending me back to the store to buy more ingredients to make a double batch, lol!
Looks delicious Matt!!!
Is there any particular retailer in Canada that carries your spices/rubs?
Add jalapenos
Trying this tonight.
Reminds me of a chowder minus the clams and juice, i gotta try this!!
Thinking of dumping some ground beef in.
Gimme that Country fried steak!
that is one of the better looking potatoe soups I have seen.
Love this! Potato soup is a go-to in our house.
Call me crazy, call me weird, call me whatever, but this soup is just begging for some broccoli florets, sparingly steamed separately, leaving a bit of the crunch, and added at the very end.
YUM!!! 👍👍👍
Yum
This is very close to the way I do it. I just subtract the chicken broth and heavy cream. Bacon goes into the soup instead of just a topping. Four cups whole milk and one 16 oz container of french onion dip. Otherwise exactly the same.
I love that you use local products. Can’t go wrong using Volleman’s from Gustine. It is so rich.
Need to add diced ham and crutons…next level
Great video Matt! That is super comfort food. What a delicious bowl of soup!
Thanks for sharing!!!
You should smoke roast the potatoes whole rubbed with bbq seasoning!
What type of milk? Whole? 2%?
My wife makes a really good potato soup, so I'm going to make this one and give her a run for her money
How many servings does this make? What are the MACRO'S?
A good potato soup is indeed one of the best comfort foods!
I have a lot of the Meat Church seasonings that I absolutely love, but Blanco is the most versatile and the one I use almost daily instead of salt and pepper. If you haven't, you gotta try it on popcorn (and add some honey hog in it too for it to really pop – pun intended)
Love that you're making different things. The lady and I were talking last night and she said can we cook on the grill this weekend. I said how about chili and she said I have been craving a stew. Which in our part of the country it's been pretty cold outside. So that's the plan for the weekend smoking a stew on the traeger in the Dutch oven.
Made this awesome soup last night. Easy and delicious!
Looks fantastic. First time here. Where can l get Blanko?
2 seconds in, and I see a bottle of Blanco, oh holy cow! Actually a little Holy Cow might be a good addition to potato soup, but Blanco is the perfect seasoning for this recipe, and I'm a little disappointed in myself that I didn't think of it.
Yummy 😋
A quick and easy recipe! I like it!
Love this recipe. If I didn’t want to add cheese, do you still think it would get to the correct consistency or should I add something else?
Winston Churchill approves of this recipe.
Why not put the bacon in the whole soup? I am going to try this slow-smoked on the Traeger.
I was just wondering what to make for dinner tomorrow. Now I know!
I add diced ham and put the bacon in the soup
How many people will this recipe feed?
