Sandwich de Lomo

The Sandwich de Lomo, also known as Lomito, is a loaded steak sandwich eaten in Argentina and other South American countries. There are many variations of this delicious sandwich, but it typically consists of a bread roll filled with mayonnaise, chimichurri (you can find my recipe on the website), lettuce, grilled steak (I used sirloin), tomato, ham, cheese, onions, and a fried egg.

If you’re from South America, I’d love to hear how you enjoy your Lomito! Let me know in the comments.

  1. I used to work in a Peruvian restraunt, and we made this dish called lomo saltado. I couldn't swear to its authenticity, but it was delicious. Marinated skirt steak sautéed with aji peppers and onions in a sour, earthy sauce, then served over a bed of these killer papas fritas. I ate it all the time.
