You could use a can of whole tomatoes or crushed tomatoes, too, to keep it even more pantry-ish. Good use of sardines, which are an underrated ingredient.
One of my absolute favorite college recipes! I thought it was just me that paired beans, tomato, and canned fish like mackerel or sardines. A quick version of this if you dont have bread is to mix a bagged fennel, dill and fava bean rice pilaf with a can of sardine in tomato sauce, and add a little fresh tomato.
I sowed fava beans seeds a couple weeks ago and they just started popping up! I'm so going to make this recipe in the summer! Thanks for the inspiration 🙂
Ooh never heard of this but i love all these ingredients and the fresh salad to go on top with the crusty bread. Man that sounds so good. Might need to switch the sardines for italien sausage tho. My husband wouldnt eat it if it has sardines. Lol
So unrelated but I love your shirt..where is it from?
Soooo good! I added a few dashes of fish sauce for that umami
I love sardines, needed a recipe besides eatin it with crackers only
goddamn, this is something I'd love to try
I love sardines.
I have a few tins of them right now.
They're so good for you.
I can just eat them with crackers and a dash of Tabasco. 😋
I love this!!! I will change the sardines for tuna and the beans to navy beans or chickpeas 🤤 thank you for the inspiration!
Is the recipe on your website? I’d love to try this out!
Everything you make is so elegant, and done with such elegance! If anything is “ASMR”, this is it.

Fun!! I don't think my family would dig it because between the shopping, prepping and cooking, it would be Thursday before the shopping was done, 😂
