Being I am Cajun this recipe is clearly a Creole or Red style gumbo. This recipe removes many of our iconic flavors.
I made this gumbo yesterday and I''m telling you it was so damn good. So far I made Rosie's recipe for gumbo, mac and cheese, cornbread dressing, crock pot collard greens, and chitlins and when I say ALL have been the TRUTH. Rosie knows what she is doing. Thank you Rosie for the amazing recipes!

Before making my roux. After taking out the veggies. I put my raw shrimp shells in the pot and toasted them. I let the toasted shrimp shells sit in chicken broth while making the roux. Thanks for your recipe it was fabulous!!!! Rhonda

Your roux was 2 stages light to my liking and the comment about taking the flavor out of the pan was a no go, but everything else was excellent.
