Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs. Boneless skinless chicken thighs
2 cups Chicken broth
1 lb. Andouille sausage
2 lbs. Shrimp deveined and peeled (jumbo)
1 1/2 lbs. Crab claws (crab legs, lobster, etc.)
1 bag Frozen okra (16 oz.)
1 cup Celery
5 cloves of Garlic
2 Bay Leafs
1 Green bell pepper
1 Onion
5 -7 sprigs of Thyme (fresh)
2 cans Fire roasted tomatoes
2 tbsp Creole Seasoning (SweetSmokieJoe.com, Creole Kick)
Roux
1/2 cup of Vegetable oil
1/2 cup All Purpose Flour
Serve with white rice!

Love your stuff…but I will say, the tomatoes in gumbo is a hotly debated subject…Only people in Louisiana that do that are a select few in the New Orleans area…I’d try it though.
Maybe I just missed it, but when and where do you add in the garlic cloves? Are they put in whole minced first? Did you stir fry them in with the roux and vegetables?

Is frozen okra slimy when cooked?
Like everything you did except my mom saute the okra with a lil tomato paste to kind of get the slime out before adding it to the gumbo, and I like to brown my chicken just for color. and I don't use a crock pot. but everything looks great, I will try the creole kick, coming from St. Martinville Louisiana I thank you.
