Seriously electric sharpeners are bad lady. Learn some knowledge before you think you know what your doing. They damage knives.

I sharpen serrated knives professionally. Using electric sharpeners like this will slowly grind down the points along the edge of your serrated knife. You can buy what I use at Amazon , a Crystolon 10 inch ceramic sharpening rod. Use this to deepen the valleys and raise the points of your knife all with a few simple strokes. Fine serrations will require a smaller tool. The pointiness of the tips is really not that important unless cutting very crusty bread. The points serve mostly to keep the sharp "valleys" from contacting hard surfaces.
The fact you are using a electric sharpener shows you know nothing about sharpening knives. They are the worst thing you can do to sharpen a knife.
So only 3/4 of the blade gets sharpened? What about the rear portion of the blade towards the heel that never goes in the sharpener?
I have never come across an electric knife sharpener that comes up to snuff and produces a "true edge" on straight blades let alone serrated. I would say this will not produce an edge I would consider as professional. I have had to restore many that have been used on electrics plus they can remove a significant amount of metal. Once an edge has been set, soft touch up with minimal metal loss is all that is required.
There is no reason why a serrated blade cannot be as sharp as a straight but this is an easy way to get a result thats poor in my personal opinion.
Are you truly independent and offering a view without gain or is there some financial relationship between yourself and this company.

It isn't hard, and manual sharpening equipment isn't expensive.

you can hone a serated knife…The same way you would a normal knife.
For $150, I’ll just use my stones and hones on my regular knives, and buy a new serrated knife every so often. You could buy 6 of your winning bread knives for the price of the sharpener.

Pretty worthless video in my opinion. It only shows you how to use a single type of machine , and I'm sure that machine came with its own instructions. I doubt most people have one of these machines, so it doesn't apply to most people.
K I am not a pro anything but cowboy, but I was a custom butcher for about 10 years and all I can yet say is serrated knives are tools of the devil lol. You don't really need one for bread. Just a good hand and sharp blade
Wanting to purchase the Wusthof Brisket Knife, would the Chef's Choice Sharpener be a good choice for it?
Is it me or did she not use the angle guide of either side of the stage? If you hold the knife straight up while pulling then you are assuming the grinding surface is at the proper angle, which brings us to the question of why the sides of each stage show 15-20 degree angles if you aren't supposed to use them as guides during a pull? Also, was expecting a before / after test of the sharpness. I like Lisa as the gadget person but they might want to redo this one. As others in the comments, I use a round steel to lightly do each curve and don't find it that hard to do.
Well… what about people that don't use the machine you are using? This is a tutorial on using the Chefs Choice.
I think this tool would destroy my Shun Bread Knife DM0758, because the bevel is only on one side of the Knife. Putting any sort of bevel on the back side would render it useless as a bread knife.
Would you all do a test of manual and electric grain mills. I want to buy one but not sure which one to buy.

I have been using a Lansing sharpening system for decades and recently gave it to my son so he can maintain his professional knife set. So, after waffling on the Trizor since it first floated to the top of ATK’s tests, I finally ordered one of my own. I wonder how your clips impact sales of these items. wHen this clip was posted, did Williams Sonoma, Sur la Table, and Chef’s Choice see a spike?
I am too old fashioned. My serrated knives have a flat side and a scalloped side to the blade. I start out on a wet stone and run the flat side across the stone 15 to 20 passes. Then I take a round diamond encrusted file, small diameter and pull it across each scallop 5 to 10 times. My last step is to remove the burr on the flat side with 5 to 10 light passes on the wet stone. Takes longer but the knife performs well. I do not have an electric sharpener so I really cannot compare but for $145 I think I will stay old fashioned.
I use whetstones on my knives. I was hoping to learn how to sharpen a serrated knife with those.

The video title should have referenced the fact that the sharpening is being done by a product. Quite a waste of time for people who either don't have the product or unable to purchase it. Is this a paid sponsorship? If so it should be noted and transparent. If not, the actual content of the video should be apparent from the title or at minimum in the introduction of the video.

I have a Chef's Choice knife sharpener which I purchased after seeing one of your demonstration of their unit on the show and I love it for sharpening all my knives with. I just wish that I could do my scissors the same way on the sharpener.
the blade didnt go up and down but the serrations do , so not sure how this works ?
Or get a Worksharp, Ken Onion edition and do it right.

I use a Brod & Taylor for sharpening ALL of my knives including the serrated ones. It's the best sharpener with no motors. In my professional life, I have my knives sent out. But in my home, Brod & Taylor has been second to none.
So..if you have a sharper..do you spend slightly less for your knives in the hopes of being able to re sharpen those or just shake your head and give up and buy new top of the line? (Provided you can’t afford top of the line in the first place?)

Lesson learned too late. I have this sharpener (Works Great!)… I have this serrated knife (also Works Great) Until I kept sharpening it with all three grinding levels. Now its a sharp NON serrated blade! Alas…live and learn. Sometimes it pays to read the directions 🙂
