Pickled pork is also known as gammon or salted pork. You can typically pick it up at the local supermarket or butcher.
By the time the pork is ready to eat, it will be slightly salty but loaded with flavor. The meat will be tender and have a lovely pink color to it.
A single piece of pork should be enough to feed about six people. However, I highly recommend that you make some side dishes to go with it. The meat is also perfect as part of a sandwich or pizza topping.
The ingredients that you will need to be able to make this dish is right below.
1.5kg (3.3 lb) pickled pork
1 onion, roughly chopped
1 carrot, roughly chopped
14 peppercorns
8 cloves
2 bay leaves
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup malt vinegar
Enough water to cover
Below are some serving ideas that I highly recommend that you give a try.
In the video, I show the pickled pork served with mashed potatoes, peas, carrots, and mushrooms. It was a delicious combination that I highly recommend trying.
If you have some spare time, then some roast potatoes and cauliflower cheese will match nicely with the meat. I also recommend making a homemade gravy to go over the pork.
I hope that you love the slow cooker pickled pork as much as I do. If you have some feedback, then please do not hesitate to leave a comment below.

Looks divine!
Please share the recipe for the amazing looking gravy on the photo?
Uhh…NO!
I'm a southern guy from Louisiana. Pickled pork is what we use to season our beans and some other foods.
Cook this (just a little) in a skillet with some oil. Once done, chop up and put each piece in your beans and cook with the rest of your ingredients.
Sooo I got 1 of these today thinking I'd just throw it on the BBQ … but now I find out they need to cook all day long. ..
