  2. Ok, so I did this last night. The rice and flavor were fabulous. However, I’m used to cooking cube steaks so I had my doubts with this recipe in that regard but I gave it a try cuz I was hopeful. And yup, the steak wasn’t nearly tender enough after only 1.5 hours of cooking. This morning I removed the meat, put it in a crockpot with beef broth, set it high for 3.5 hours, and now it’s fork tender. Once it cools I’ll just add it back on top of the already cooked rice mixture. My advice: crockpot the meat for several hours BEFORE using in this recipe, and it will come out fantastic!

  3. Try it no rice, flour steaks salt and pepper, slice sweet onion, place in casserole dish, layer onions, mushrooms in between steaks, mix separately: gravel packet (brown), water and golden mushroom soup pour over casserole, bake @ 350 for one hour.
