  1. You're wasting SO MUCH strawberry when you're "coring" them like that… which is especially a shame because then people then think that's how you're supposed to do it. Just like people think you have take the "skin" off carrots and how people think you can't eat the green of leeks..

  2. If you want even more of the fruit flavor, especially the citrus, let the fruit and sugar sit for a few hours before adding the water. It'll pull even more of the natural oils out of the peels.

  3. Could you use the muddled strawberries and limes to make a base for a tomato sauce or salsa (rather than throwing them out)? Might sound weird, but I've seen a few tomato sauce recipes with either strawberries or limes, but not both. If you sauteed them, would the lime peel/rind not candy and be bright and edible? Just trying to find ways to be creative and reduce waste…
