  1. Strawberry Refrigerator Cake

    1 box strawberry cake mix
    3 eggs and oil for box cake
    1 box of instant vanilla pudding
    1 cup of milk
    Cool whip thawed
    Fresh Strawberries – sliced
    Frozen strawberries – thawed and puréed

    Bake cake according to packaging. Allow cake to cool. Poke the cake with holes with the handle of a wooden spoon.

    Pour puréed strawberries over the cake. Top strawberry slices.

    Add pudding and milk to a large bowl. Whip until combined, until the consistency of a pudding. Fold in Cool Whip. Spread topping over cake.

    Be sure to refrigerate. Serve cake cold.

  2. My mom’s been making this for over 20 years. It is good. You can use vanilla or yellow paper. Also mix strawberry cherry or blueberry Jell-O pour that down into the poked holes of the cake. Spread softened, whipped cream Cool Whip on top icing.

  3. My mom always makes this with jello. We call it jello cake. Instead of the puréed strawberries she uses a box of jello mixed with the amount of water on the box and pours it over the cake in all the holes. You could still do the strawberry puree just mix it with the jello and it will soak into the cake better. We top ours with cool whip and strawberries on top. Most of the time I chop some strawberries really small or sometimes I mix it up and use blueberries instead and mix it into the cake mix.
