  1. Wanted to say thank you for posting this. I'm just beginning to learn to cook. Picked up some nice filets at the store yesterday and put them in the freezer until I could figure out how to cook them. I very much enjoyed learning these points from your video… Dry the fish. Apply oil. Apply seasoning. Pat the seasoning into the fish. Baking dish with a little oil. 350°F for about 20 minutes.

I didn't catch what type of oil to use? Is EV-olive oil okay? Should I use peanut oil (higher "smoke point")? Is a butter compound (I think it was garlic or chives and butter) okay? I made a butter compound for Hasselbeck potatoes a couple of years ago and have had the left over compound in the freezer since then. Hoping to find something that I can use it for. Well, and am hoping it is still edible after two years in the freezer…

Thank you again for posting this video. It has given me confidence to try and bake fish.

  2. I so enjoy watching such young cooks muster up such amazingly delicious recipes!!!!! As a seasoned cook of 40 yrs, I would not have prepared anything differently!!!!! The fillet looks wonderful!!!!!!

  3. Add some herbs and garlic, finely diced onion or shallot to taste and then a quarter cup of grainy mustard. pour it over your salmon fillets and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes. Finish with some sliced almonds. Its even better the next day.
