  1. Hi Chef Julie, I’ve been making green smoothies everyday and recently I read about adding raw spinach and kale is not good because it oxalates and can cause kidney stones. It also mention about adding lemon juice or milk, steaming or blanching the raw veggies first before blending it into the smoothie. I’m 57 and I certainly do not wished to have “ stones” in my kidneys… it’s so conflicting because I thought fresh veggies is definitely much better.. I’m becoming paranoid about it now .. to blanch or not to blanch ? Thanks for sharing 😉
