Thai Basil Beef is super quick and easy and busting with flavor! It’s made with ground beef and lots of fresh basil! Serve it over some steamed rice and you can forget the take out!!
Thai Basil Beef
Ingredients
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 small onion, sliced
1 red bell pepper, sliced
3 garlic cloves, minced
3 tablespoons soy sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons fish sauce
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup chopped basil
Optional- minced Thai chilies or crushed red pepper flakes
Directions
In a bowl mix together soy sauce, fish sauce, water and brown sugar.
Heat oil in a pan over medium high heat and sauté ground beef. Cook until cook through, about 4-5 minutes. Remove, drain and set aside.
Add more oil to the pan and sauté bell peppers, onions and garlic. Cook until slightly soften, about 2 minutes.
Return beef back to the pan and stir in sauce. Bring to boil. Continue to cook over medium high heat until the sauce has reduced, about 2-3 minutes.
Remove from heat and stir in basil and peppers if using. Serve over rice.

This dish has lots of flavor! I added 5 Thai chilies to make it medium hot and we weren’t disappointed. After making this, I also watched your video for Thai basil chicken (similar), so I’m looking forward to cooking that, too! 🌶
Love the simplicity of this dish ❤️
