While I generally avoid specialized-use gadgets, one of my exceptions is a silicone pot handle sleeve. I slide it in the skillet to remove it from the oven and leave it there to prevent burns.
Great, simple tip. Just read the caveats, make sure it's cotton fill, rather than poly fill. Poly fill will melt. If poly fill, turn your potholder inside out to create a barrier between the scorching metal, and melty poly cloth.
Yes, I do this already! Works well to keep all hands in the house from getting burned!! Just be sure the liner of the oven mitt has a silicone or other heat-proof liner. I once had a fluffier padded cotton mitt liner stick to my pan’s handle. That was a mess to clean off!
But if the interior of the glove isn't the same heat resistant material as the outside, say has some sort of liner, it might not be as heat resistant and that could be problematic.
Started doing this after second degree burns on my hand. 😢
I only had to grab three or four hot handles before this became automatic.
“So sad” is one way to describe it
Been there done that, More than once
This is one of the best tips ive seen in a whilr

Omg I HATE when I grab handles straight from the oven. 😂
Great advice! I’ve done that for decades.
If you’re worried about synthetics or don’t have mits just drop a folded tea towel on it
Good tip
Zero chance I actually remember to do it instead of carmelizing my hand for the 254th time. But I appreciate the thought
This is a really irritating format for a video make it stahhhp
