Hawaiian roast pork’s unbeatable flavor is thanks to the traditional cooking method used to make it: an imu, or underground pit oven, used to steam large format animals. Watch the video above for a look at the ancient practice, as well as the wonderfully celebratory meal it produces.

You can tell she's lying about the flavour… Especially at 2:41–2:45
She's goofy. On purpose?
I work at a gated community, and a resident who's from Hawaii made some Imu pork, and gave me a plate. It was the most delicious pork I ever had in my life.
I will be visiting Hawaii in a few weeks. Honolulu. I want to help build an Imu or eat the food. Dm me if you can offer this.
Omg sooo good.
Was able to share one of these great meals why at a luau on the north shore when we stayed.

You would find ones in papua
Tino reka te kai!! Mahalo nui!
Pretty sure that "Hawaiian Pork" slow cooker sauce isn't gonna taste like Kalua pig cooked in an imu… I'm guessing more like: shoyu (soy sauce), sugar, ginger and pineapple? Nice try Campbells. smdh
Thank you for really going to the source. I recently saw an episode of A Moveable Feast on Hawaii. While they had Chinese, Filipino and Korean cooks on their episode, they did not have one native Hawaiian. Your episodes here are much better.
damn those legs
PR person at campbell better get a RAISE.

Such a disingenuous way to promote jars of premade sauce.
that pork looked way overcooked.
It's so beautiful to be invited into another culture and you fully embrace it. I got invited to a kalua when I was in Hawaii, and it was awesome. Thanks for sharing! It brought back so much memories of Hawaii.
in indonesia especially papua its called "bakar batu" or burned stone
Inā maopopo maoli iā ʻoe ka manaʻo o "aloha", inā nō kākoʻo ʻoe i ko nā Hawaiʻi makemake e hoʻihoʻi i ke ea o ka pae ʻāina nei.

I Love Hawaiian people so much and they have Hawaiian BBQ that I enjoy so much but I have to say the pork is not my favorite.
