How are the nonstick grill on an electric stove
I've been watching ATK for years and love it. Thank you so much for the great info! 🙂
Toddy makes really good coffee. We stopped using it because of the cost of coffee. You use a pound of coffee then add the water. Can’t get near as many cups of coffee as you can making it another way. The cost per cup is too high.
How about checking out bread making machines?
Those stupid, but pretty, marble rolling pins. Mine is just ornamental now. They are so nonporous they can't hold onto flour, so they actually end up being stickier (in an unproductive and unhelpful way) than wood or other materials
“Oils polymerize” really?
Please
I have used the classic Toddy system for years. A caution, however, about the glass carafe. It is heavy and for most women hard to grasp with one hand. USE BOTH HANDS to take it out of the fridge. The last thing you want is for it to slip and shatter on the kitchen floor. Not only do you have to clean up all the glass shards , but you will also have sticky coffee concentrate EVERYWHERE. The voice of experience here. Use both hands. This stuff is great not only for coffee, but also for recipes where you add in coffee (like chocolate things). For long road trips, Excellent. A friend makes "toddy espressos" when we travel. A couple of ounces of the concentrate and your favorite adds (cream, milk, whatever). No stopping for over roasted Starbucks. And it is so tasty.
That water heater wastes a ton of power. It makes a lot more sense to use one of the may versions that only heat what they are dispensing and do not waste power all day long.
Great share! Thanks! Always enjoy it! 💗☺☺☺
I would like to see more testing of environmentally safe/friendly product to replace items containing "forever" chemicals.
The cast iron bread "ovens" are very interesting; thank you! (Are you related to K. Scott in CA? You sound like her and even have similar glasses!)
I got myr dowel at the lumberyard. I used a smaller size more control. I also have a 1" PVC which is great for Tortillas. (It was free, I just unscrewed the connected pieces of pipe and "Jill's my auntie!")
I discovered my roasting pan makes a great grill on the stove. How nice.
Edit added: Lisa the Vitamix is expensive.
I am such a gadget head but thrifty, so I was worried watching this that I’d want everything. But…surprisingly no. I had found a great cast iron griddle for my induction range at a thrift store for $10. The cold brew would only last me 2 days and not a week so it’s not much of a benefit for me. I have an inexpensive Aldi brand enameled Dutch oven I can use for making bread and I don’t care if it gets discolored inside because I also have a LeCreuset I inherited. I was hoping you would comment on tapered edge rolling pins, and silicone ones. Thank you for all your hard work, the book looks like it is great.
Wow Marshawn Lynch product got props from atk!
Having only lived in countries where electric kettles are standard, I don't get the water boiler thing. With my kettle, you put in only the amount of water you need, and it boils really quickly. This is also advised to save electricity, boiling only the water you need every time.
I also don't get the obsession with not getting up from your desk, a 5 minute break to stretch your legs while you make some tea sounds like a good idea.
Cold brew coffee is bland and homogenous, who wrote that copy???
I am so fed up with my stove the plastic they have been introducing makes me as a senior fed up, my husband hates being made to find the temp and timing for me, what do you guys recommend, Im looking at la Cornue and la Canche the Appliance quality infuriates me! what do you think?! I just want to buy one and find it reliable, so my sweet kids aren't faced with crappy appliances Fridgidare Profile!!!
Its a great weapon!
I own the orange silicon gloves and they are great for what they are for, grabbing large smoked meats (brisket, butts, etc.) that tongs are too small for or that would fall apart if picked up by other means. You can throw them into the dishwasher when done. Your pick would be soaked with fat and drippings. BTW, I have a pair of heat resistant leather gloves for handling chimney and moving coals.
For drip coffee: the Zojirushi Zutto is my favourite'
What a terrible way to make tea! Teabags?! You have to take fresh running cold water, bring it to a boil in a kettle and pour it over tea leaves to produce good tea!
lol those are just welding gloves with a nice dye
I have the Lodge cast iron griddle, and I highly recommend it, it's great for burgers and steaks
