Can’t believe you didn’t include Sunbeam.
I love how they consider different applications, I love the country style breads to eat alone but they are too thick for most sandwiches… when I use the thicker breads it’s almost always an open face sandwich…
If you want to eat some blah white bread, try the zero carb keto stuff. If you’re diabetic but want a sandwich, it’s the deal. And it’s only $7 for a small one lb loaf!
Love Pepperidge Farm Farmhouse and Sara Lee Artisano!
No Sunbeam Giant?
Grandma Sycamore’s in Utah (at least)
Despite your less than endearing rank of 8 out of 8 (last place) Wonder Bread is and will likely always be my hands down all time favorite!
I get the Sara Lee Artesano or the Pepperidge Farm ( depending on which is on sale ) because they both taste great and do not contain High Fructose Corn syrup. I never get the white bread though. White bread is just…boring.
In the UK, American breads are required to be placed in the “pastry“ section because they are so loaded with sugar.
wonder bread is the best
Artesano? Really?? I'll have to give it another try because I tried that once and it felt thin to me and smaller compared to other brands. Wonder bread, I would have to agree. Didn't like the texture
When I saw the GT 350 in the lineup, I already made my decision. IMO the best looking, best sounding, highest revving with a manual is hard to beat.
I think a toast category should have been present. Some of those that scored low un-toasted may make better toast. To me, most of the "industrial" breads smell sour and I don't like it. I've found that Mark Bittman's sandwich loaf recipe from "HOw to Cook Everything" produces great results. I double the recipe. The rye bread recipe makes the type of rye I like too.
Wow no, country hearth, or Brownberry Those are my go to
It’s funny because I love the nature’s own… I like the funky taste to it, almost like it’s sourdough’s distant cousin. lol
Never heard of half of these. Do not like Sara Lee. Or Panera. Wonderbread, while soft and tasteless, does make decent sealed (crimped edge) sandwiches.
All American sliced bread has way to much sugar.
Explain to me why is it better to take fresh bread and make it stale to make dressing than it is to buy stale crunch y stuffing bread crumbs …..
I’m blessed to live in a region with Franz bread.
Did you add a piece of cardboard to the taste test as a control? I cannot think of a sadder comparison (well, carton broths/stocks comes close). Have you looked at the ingredients lists? No thanks!
Lisa, you need to lose about 40% bodyweight. I’d estimate you at 5’3”, 240 pounds. Maybe 5’4”.
Your heart is screaming out in agony.
I’m all about Hellmann’s mayonnaise, and Duke’s too! I have tried many types of mayonnaise and Miracle Whip, and I pretty much think they are all disgusting compared to my favorites.
Artesano white or wheat (when I can find it) is the only white bread I’ll buy. In addition to tasting good, it stays fresh longer than any other bread I’ve ever had.
Never bought these American white breads, they are disgustingly sweet 🤮
You should be including Aldi brands in these reviews.
Other than "Vienna" or "sourdough" bread, I have not bought any white bread in years. I go for wheat.
The fact that you call this a bread is just crazy. This should be called "bread alike product".
Wish there were ratings for toasted, and possibly buttered.
I'd like to have a good low sodium option and will see if I can get the Freihofer's somewhere. But for now, I usually buy what's on BOGO but really do like Sarah Lee, Pepperidge Farm, and will buy Arnold's. Great review vid!
A few years ago a European visitor to America told me how they do not like our bread because it is really “sponge bread and bread should not have that type of structure.” I make my own, no yeast or leavened bread, now, and I find it hard to eat and digest the soft “spongy” textured bread. Baguette, however, yummy!!!😂😂😂
The first and second bread are my favorites for toast!!! Geez! I make my own bread now, but seeing this, I can TASTE the toast!!! LOVE IT!!! Nature’s Own is a no high fructose corn syrup bread. I chose to eat that bread after being diagnosed with Insulin Resistance. And the Canadian bread was my choice of bread when I lived in Boston and the Pepperidge Farm’s Farmhouse Hearty White bread hit over five dollars per loaf!!! Wait. The Sara Lee bread made number one???😳!!! Wow! Talk about thick slices. I’ve had it but…🤔…I guess…to each its own.😑!😂😂😂😂
JJ Nissen I love to buy, probably my number 1
Recently bought 2 loaves of Wonder Bread when the store had none of my regular breads. I had fond memories of it from childhood. I was so disappointed. There were rather large holes in each slice, the top crusts actually fell off and each of the 2 loaves I bought had odd U shaped divots in the bottom that were not from being crushed but it had obviously been baked that way. It honestly was not any better and the texture was worse than Walmart Great Value sandwich bread. I sure was not expecting that. I think I will write the company to let them know what poor quality theìr bread is now.
