  1. My mum peeled everything but carrots and potatoes with a knife (truthfully, she didn’t peel carrots at all, they got a good hard scrubbing and that was it). The peeler WAS the safety device. The only reason she used the peeler on potatoes was speed and the handy little thingy on there for gouging out any eyes in the potato. Of all the things in a kitchen that might need a kids version, this seems the least significant

  2. My mother used to bring carrots for her kindergarteners to peel, with those old fashioned peelers, and the kids did fine! SEVENTEEN BUCKS!?!?! I'm going to recommend that blue one to a friend of mine, who's a chef, who dinged his knuckle with a veg. peeler this morning!

  3. Why are repeating your videos? This one was a snoozer the first time you posted it. Are we running out of content or just trying to maintain your You Tube quota? No value in this video!!!!

  4. Ikea has the Smabit kid's knife & peeler set that my now 7y/o grandson has been using since he was 5. He loves them & still uses them all the time. Sized right for kid's hands, knife has finger guard and blade cover, knife actually cuts & peeler peels well. It's also only $5.99 in the USA. Not connected with Ikea in any way, just really like the set.

  5. I dunno, my general feeling is kids don't need or want special "kids" versions of everything!

You don't do kids any favors by trying to make everything super safe. Life isn't safe, teach kids that, and teach them to be smart, strong people.

  6. I grew up in the 50's / 60's and my mother 'cooked' tv dinners and spanish rice. Thankfully, my neighbor liked to bake cookies and would let me help. I'm not sure how much help I was, but it gave me an introduction to using the strange equipment in the kitchen that I rarely saw my mother touch! Those were the days when nothing was kid-proofed. If you got hurt by a kitchen tool you learned from the experience not to do it again. Peel your finger once – that's all it takes! The box grater though, continues to ply it's evil upon my knuckles (cutting gloves work – if you use them)!

  7. Hey, I love your channel and all the videos. So helpful and very useful as I am living on my sailboat, at sea for the rest of my life! Food is good. Great food is better. And easy, well planned great food is the best. Thanks, again for all you do!!!
