BBQ Little Smokies are a great party food because they are quick and easy to prepare (and they are quite tasty.) That means you can spend less time cooking and more time having fun at your party. You can serve them directly from a warm crock pot and they will stay good for hours.

I grew up making a recipe very similar to this except we used a 12-ounce bottle of Heinz Chili Sauce, 4 Tablespoons of Golden Sorghum Molasses, and Grape Jelly. I suspect that it may be regional variations. I grew up in the Mississippi River Valley region.
Youโre right, every party and this was on the table. Sometimes used meatballs. Another option is to use jellied cranberry sauce instead of the grape jelly and chili sauce for the BBQ sauce. We used grape jelly and chili sauce. Itโs a tangier taste for those who arenโt into sweet things. I think this was around in the 60s when I was a teenager.
Love this recipe. I guess your valentine special will be an all day event. I'll see you then. God bless you and your Family.
My family has always made this at get togethers and a similar recipe with meatballs. They are very tasty and easy. This brings back good memories. God bless. ๐๐
Wow!!! I forgot all about this snack ๐ We always had them at our church pot lucks and they always were a big hit:) tfs and God bless:)
My Mom does this with meatballs
Thank you Becky.
Happy Valentines Day to you and yours. โค
Could I substitute guava jelly or pineapple jam? Grape jelly is so expensive in Hawaii.
The original recipe was made with Kraft original barbecue sause and Kraft grape jelly. Kraft barbecue sauce is not the same as it was years ago. I haven't been able to find Kraft grape jelly in several years.
I have used seedless blackberry and it is good.
What's with the grape jelly
This Original Little Smokies recipe looks so delicious ๐Ms. Becky.
Can't wait to see your video on Valentine's Day ๐.. God Bless y'all
No….I don't like jelly in my sauce….I don't like sweet in my savory foods. I make a cheesy sauce for my little smokies….yummm!
Oh wow, BBQ and grape jelly with little smokies! That sounds wonderful. I will have to try that recipe. It sounds and looks wonderful. All of the varieties of little smokies, nowadays get so confusing. This is a great appetizer for all parties and potlucks.
I love your Valentine decorations you have all over your kitchen! So pretty! God bless you, Becky! ๐๐๐
I use plum jam and prepared mustard. Itโs delicious. My teenage grandsons love them and devour them when I make them. Theyโre a great snack after school.
A great recipe!! Thank you Becky๐น
the lil smokies tastes great if you sub a apple jelly for grape
Happy early ten years on YouTube!!!
The recipe I remember used Del Monte cocktail sauce and grape jelly. Never tried yours – but will ๐๐ป
Kraft started putting high fructose corn syrup in miracle whip and it doesn't taste the same.
The only thing I am presently aware of that I buy kraft now is the cheddar cheese blocks.
Hi Becky, I make this when we have get togethers as well. Thank you for your recipes all these years, but love how you share your faith and love for the Lord most of all. I know you've touched lives who may never have been witnessed before. What a blessing you are, thank you.
I love those. I havenโt had them in years. We also added bourbon to ours
Count me in for the party! I will be joining in ๐โค
I always enjoy watching your videos. You are an inspiration to everyone. Will you be coming out with a new cookbook any time soon? I have been enjoying the first one very much! May the good Lord bless and keep you!
Amen๐
I was curious about the balls on the plate next to the smokies. They kind of looked like mashed potato balls with gravy on them. That sounds good with smokies.
Made your Meatloaf recipe today…FANTASTIC!!!!
I grew up eating these with my mother making them for the parties
Moms go to was grape jelly and Hienz chili sauce. Hard to beat! ๐
Kraft just grrrr
I never knew you put a jelly in with that stuff. I thought it was just BBQ sauce. I donโt get the jelly part.
