  1. A couple ideas: blue Spanish cheese? Valdéon! If you can’t find quince paste; try fig jam. Barring that, apricot jam. Fantastic variations. Don’t forget the wine unless, of course, you don’t drink. Great bread and butter. Endless variety. 😊

  2. Are website subscriptions so low that you no longer give even the smallest tips free of the pay wall? I subscribe to a number of your emails, and they used to lead to a decent quantity of free content. But that seems to have come to an abrupt end a month or so ago. I no longer see any benefit to subscribing to the emails as they have become totally useless and are nothing more than advertising now. It is sad to see ATK become so commercialized. From now on, I will stick to other quality sites such as FoodWishes and Serious Eats for recipes and information. Very disappointing.

  3. It looks great, but where are the toothpicks? When I do something like this, I make everything so it can be picked up with a toothpick (I'd stuff some of those peppers in advance) and have a supply of toothpicks so people don't have to grab things with their hands. I did a very simple thing the other day that took only a few minutes to prepare, and said to my GF, "Here's your toothpick!"

  4. This is a sad excuse to call an ultimate Spanish style cheese board.

No olives, no sort of the preserved can seafood that Spain is famous for, no kind of cured sausages, hell even the blue cheese wasn't Spanish.

This is basic and mediocre at best.

  5. I generally go with a board of 4 feet by 6 feet if I only have 4 people.. For more than that I like my 6 x 8 board. I love to see people stretching to reach anything and that really cuts down on my food costs. Naturally they have to stand to reach anything and that also seems to inhibit excessive participation.

  6. Noticing all the things that don’t matter. I don’t think this is Julia’s actual kitchen. The stove and sink are in the same location but in previous videos there are cabinets and little shelves between the window and the stove. A set that is very similar to the real thing but allows for easier filming. I do enjoy this series!
