  1. Thank you for this fantastic recipe (ground beef bulgolgi). My husband doesn’t care for rice. I made this recipe today and asked him to taste the meat and he looooved it! I offered to make him a burrito and to my surprise he said: “I’ll eat it the way you prepared it, with the white rice.” Guys! He tore it up!!!! 😅. This one will be added to my dinner rotation staples. Thank you so much!!! 👏🏼🙌🏼🫶🏼 #OneHappyWife 🥹🥰

  2. Yeah, but all the ingredients from China? No, thanks. Have you heard/seen/read the reports on the dangerous crap they put in their foods? Especially processed…dangerous to buy anything imported from their. They actually bleach garlic, and most of our garlic comes from there. No, no, no!

  3. New subscriber here. Tried the spicy bulgogi recipe today using ground beef and it turned out so yummy! I used less gochugaru powder in mine.
Note to self: this goes great with polau or pilaf rice. So good!

  4. Loving your videos. Made the spicy bulgogi tonight and it was great. I plan on trying my hand at doenjang kalguksu tomorrow. I'm slowly exploring korean cuisine and your videos have been a great aid. Looking forward to getting my hands on your cookbook in December.

  5. Hi Aaron, I tried your bulgogi recipe and everyone at home love it!! One question, for spicy bulgogi if I’m using ground beef, can I marinate it also? Or should I cook the beef first then add sauce? Thanks for answering.

  6. Simple rule of thumb for "ground beef" aka what is colloquially referred to as "hamburger meat"

If you beef WASN'T GROUND, would you be willing to grind it yourself for the dish? Or would you rather have whole strips of beef???

IE: if I was making a cheeseburger or meatballs, I would 100% grind the meat to make it… but if I was making bulgogi I would NOT grind the beef EVER…

If you answered no, then you should NOT use ground beef for bulgogi. If you answered yes, then sure go ahead.

Same for tacos or any other dish that people try to unnecessarily force ground beef into the recipe for. Ground beef is just whole beef with an EXTRA STEP of grinding the meat… so if you see it packaged in a store for CHEAPER than whole beef, there's a disgusting reason why (grade D meat that is the lowest grade "fit for human consumption", pink slime, ground up bone, etc). If you actually want proper ground meat from the butcher or meat counter in a grocery store, it's not nearly as cheap as the stuff that people claim "oh but it's so easy and cheap". However Bulgogi is defined as a specific Korean style of preparation for "strips of meat", and while commonly beef, things like chicken are often cheaper than even the cheap grade D ground beef and taste much better in dishes where ground meat is not preferred.
