It’s not a problem to not be able to show up empty-handed, it’s a problem TO show up empty-handed. I’m Lebanese and I’m planning a trip to family a month from now and making a list of everything to pack for everyone and what will be allowed on the plane. In the car, you know we would have boxes of fruit and dates and nuts. I once had two cute guys stop my carry-on in the x-Ray to do another check. I said yes, that’s 16 pounds of mixed nuts 🙄 😂
You and me have two different definitions of a problem.
Also tray all the way, faster and easier assembly, every one serves themselves= less waste (some people eat less, some more) can generally be more environmentally friendly as well.
