Do you have a video installing a downdraft with your grates?
Have had these grates for a few months now on my JB Prime Plus and really like them! The added thermal mass helps even out the temps across the grill surface and I can fit two full packer briskets on the top grate leaving me room for a water pan on the bottom grate. The only improvement they could make would be to not block the thermometer probe holes – maybe provide some sort of pass thru? But you can just run the wires under the lid without any real issue so it isn't much of an issue to be fair.
Love the slide out grate especially for the middle rack. Have a Rider DLX Gen 2 and would love to see a mod like this!
so you can't use the gmg rotisserie with this? can you leave the brackets in place for the pizza oven?
I ordered these….FYI….don’t waste you time with Traegers or Pit Boss units in making these….they make too many different sizes and make too many changes. GMG is consistent.
I recently installed these on my older GMG DB. I wasn’t sure if it would fit based on the web site description. I sent an email to TheBBQHQ and got a quick reply. They asked for certain dimensions of my grill. Once I sent them, they confirmed that this system would work.
They shipped them out quickly and as Tony Woolf mentions in another comment, it could not be easier. I have them all seasoned up and I have a couple of cooks on them so far. They are awesome. This effectively doubles the cooking area.
They grate system does at a decent amount of weight to the grill. That’s not an issue for me, however.

Why does the grate pattern flip on the 2nd tier?
So if you have the GMG Ledge do you mount the rotisserie kit to your rack or the Ledge?
From watching vids it seems you really like the Weber Smokefire and the GMG pellet grills a lot? I'm considering a few but really looking at either of those two (the GMG would be with these amazing grates), what are your thoughts between the two? Flavor, what's easier to clean/maintain, durability, quality etc? Only looking for smoking no need for grilling.

Just installed the grate system into my GMG Jim Bowie. I am not sure that it could be an easier install. 4 bolts, hand tight and I was good to go after seasoning. Unless I received a different model, the rotisserie mount was different than what is shown in this video. My main take-away is that this expands the capability of my GMG and was really easy to install. Heavy duty- but as mentioned in the video – be careful of the sharp edges on the grate. I wore leather gloves during the install, so I was good to go. After showing my buddy this grate system, he also plans to order one for his GMG. Great design!
Does these new ones have the grate stops on them like the old ones?
