Unboxing Assembly and Phone Pairing of the UltraQ Temperature Controller from BBQ Guru
In this video I do a an unboxing, assembly, and a phone pairing on the UltraQ Temperature Controller from BBQ Guru. I even bored a hole through one of my Weber Kettles. Everything went great but Jake and I struggled a bit to drill that dang port hole!! I have tons of hole saws but not one at 1-3/8″. Oh well next time I am just going to use the ole 12 gauge! hahaha I have always wanted a pit temperature controller and now I finally got one! Thanks again BBQ Bob for sending me this to review!! Very excited and first up I am going straight to the top and doing a brisket!!

Ok so after the filming of this video BBQ Guru called and explained that you need to make the hole 1 inch and squeeze the port and the deflector together! Oh well I had the instructions for the Weber Smokey Mountain. Real life sucks sometimes! ha ha
It’s taken me almost four years getting over being mad at the way we, Cyber Q owners were treated. I
Own 3 CyberQ’s then one day not a word the Internet access stopped. I finally ordered the UltraQ today.
I would like to buy a temp controller for my Oklahoma Joe drum smoker. Where can I order it from. Thanks. Ed
DON'T BUY THE ultraQ they suck / had a digiQ for years loved it. the ultraQ is nothing but trouble lies and deceit. Don't do it, you've been warned
A Weber grill? Dude up your game.😆
I used a step drill when I drilled my two kettles. Way easier.
love the video, I just got one for Father's day for my WSM. Breaking it in this weekend 🙂
Nice little tool might have to add to my Arsenal! Thanks great info.
Thanks man… Sorry I missed it the first go round!
Hey Ricer that looks like it's gonna be fun to use. Can't wait for the brisket video!
Ricer you need to pull this video! You drilled the hole wrong and people will get Hurt. Damage there smoker and burn themselves. The inner and outer need to pinch the shell of the Weber. It doesn’t slide from the inside out. I am not a hater I wish you and BBQ Guru the best.
That's a good one, Ricer.
Love the BBQ Guru! And they have an app now?! I’m hoping it works with the one I have because that was about my only complaint. Great video Ricer!
Damn! Now I need a Guru! Great video Ricer!
Great video brother. Cant wait to see it in action.
Hey whats one more hole in a kettle anyway? They like to breath (I just tell myself that!) Cheers brother!
I might get one for my uds
Lol that's pretty cool buddy!
The overheads and editing on that is just phenomenal, somehow you made a technical video interesting. Good job on finally getting that hole cut out haha. That BBQ guru should be a lot of fun. Awesome job brother and can't wait to see you use it!
Big Thumbs Up!
Couple of things. #1 I didn't know that there were any hole saws that had that messed up retracting center drill bit. I'll make sure in the future when go to replace not to get one of those. #2 If we're going to be drilling holes in our kettles maybe we should consider making a second hole for the temperature probes. Place in that second hole the same temperature probe grommet that's used in the WSM. Nice factory look mod and it would help keep the wires out of the way. Thanks for doing this vid. Have a great day. 🔥🔥🔥
Ouch! You hurt the kettle! We will defiantly need to see that in action!
Just got mine UltraQ everything worked well but my Bluetooth kept disconnecting on and off? Can’t wait till you smoke the brisket! I’m interested if you’ll have the same issue. I was worried about buying the first run. Hope maybe a update will clear it up.
Great job buddy! That’s gonna work out great! Looking forward to your cooks with that unit
Your gonna love it Ricer, I have the cyberq cloud on my weber summit, literally set it and walk away, Can't wait for your first cook with it, thanks for sharing brother, have a great one ,stay safe!👍
LOOKS LIKE IT WILL BE HANDY
I've seen people install a similar setup on stick burners. Looking forward to your review.
