The exaggerated amount of nutmeg is a clever idea to make the recipe spookier by sending you into a fugue state and hallucinate spiders and evil shifting walls later on, which is much in the spirit of Halloween! Very cool detail!

Be careful with the nutmeg. I heard in a Latino court tv show that too much nutmeg can give you a bad trip. A tiny bit as condiment is okay but too much is gonna make you sick

Onion soup mix looks exactly like wood shavings. I've used it plenty of times as a seasoning, and thought nothing of it. It's only bc I've been doing a little diy that I now know what wood shavings look like, lol. I can't unsee it 🪵

As is normally the case with these recipes, I think the amount of nutmeg was a typo. The author simply didn't proofread to check that they got tsp and tbsp right.
This recipe could absolutely be fixed, I think. I'd take out the extra salt after the soup mix and reduce the nutmeg by a lot, maybe 1/8th that amount. The brown butter sauce LOOKS sad (it always does) but it's delicious on pumpkin ravioli. Sage could be subbed for any herb if you don't prefer it.
As you were making that brown butter sage sauce, I was lamenting that it was Gina be wasted on something with that much nutmeg 😢
