Lots to go over in this video, lets start with the weber genesis, the weber gas grill has been an American staple for a long time, and its such a reliable grill, has a ten year warranty and is one of the very best gas grills for the money easily. The heart of these grills is the aluminum tub, the 335 is a nice upgrade compared to the base grade 310, and comes in different finishes and colors. Not a big fan of the broil king gas grill in general, I feel like there are better grills out there for the money, the other two in this video for instance. The Napoleon Prestige 500 is the real winner here however. This guy boasts a true infrared technology side burner, full rotisserie kit, and a lifetime warranty. So for me this grill is the real winner, why would you not want a superior product with a better warranty? It just makes sense right? The features on this grill are outstanding, and Napoleon really stands above the rest in my opinion in the gas grill market.

  1. So glad you left out the btu’s of each burner and total with side burner and rotisserie, why would we want to know how much heat up potential a grill has, or the coverage of the burners as it relates to cooking surface. Just in case you were wondering, this is called sarcasm….please, please, please, include the btu breakdown in the future!

  2. In doing a ton of homework on grills, I keep coming back to rust issues and the grade of stainless used. I noticed you didn't hit on the grades at all. From what I've seen, all of the Chinese grills lie Napoleon use 430 stainless inside, which is a cheap stainless that rusts. The grates, I've been told are 430 grade. I was looking at Blaze, Nap, Bull, etc., and when looking at used ones just to see how they look, they are all rusted out. Any feedback on this?

  3. I have a Weber spirit and I take care of it but 3 years in and the grates rusted , the burner tubes clogged, flavorizors disintegrated. Now Weber was good on service and sent me all the parts as it’s under warranty so I can’t complain but I thought I would get more life out it. Maybe it’s the hot humid Florida weather , but I keep it covered too…

  4. Just had my Napoleon 500 in Black Enamel delivered and setup. It is the natural gas model and without the LP bottle in the cabinet it has a lot of storage. This is replacing a three burner Weber grill that is at least 25 years old with a perfect red enameled cover. Both are built like a tank and I expect my Prestige 500 to last just as long. I keep my grills cleaned and maintained, covered when not in use.

  5. Napoleon Prestige 500 non pro series is a great grill. It compares in price to the Weber S-435 at $1499 USD. The Napoleon has some weakness vs. the Weber S-435. No side storage. Storage under grill is limited by the supports. Doors are cheaply made. The cabinet feels flimsy compared to the Weber. Difficult to put together. The biggest disadvantage for the Napoleon is that it is a much smaller grill for the same price. The Weber has 32% more cooking area for the same price. As the gentleman says in his comparison, features inside the box matter more. Grill size conveniently left out of discussion in his comparison video. If you want a grill the same size as the Weber S-435, you will need to move up to the Prestige 665 which costs $500 more than the equivalent size Weber. The Weber crafted kitchen accessories are very nice. For an additional $300 you can get a smart version of the Weber grill but I think for most people they would be better off getting an infrared thermometer, a quick probe and a probe/ambient temperature alarm system. The Napoleon has some real advantages. The infrared side burner is marginally better than the Weber searing station with the cast iron searing grate. The internal Weber searing station does a great job without using up your side burner. It gets more than hot enough . The rear infrared might make a slight difference when using a rotisserie but frankly I am skeptical. If anything the danger of overcooking the chicken increases with an infrared burner. The Weber is able to maintain a perfect roasting temperature so the difference is minimal. The nice thing is that the Napoleon comes with a rotisserie. You will need to spend extra money to get the Weber rotisserie or an aftermarket rotisserie which is much better than the OEM. The rotisserie is an additional $150 USD. The Napoleon has a more convenient lighting system and nice knobs that are lit and visually show you they are on by change color to red. This is a nice safety and convenience feature. The Napoleon warranty seems better. It is a lifetime on the lid ,grates, castings and stainless steel cook box base. Weber only has a 12 year on these parts. The non-infrared burners etc have the same 10 year warrant as Weber. Weber has a 5 year on non-listed parts. Napoleon has a 2 year on non-listed parts. Those fancy Napoleon infrared burners only have a 5 year warranty and they are expensive to replace. I doubt Napoleon will be able to live up to its warranty 20 years from now when they don't make the part. Maybe they can. So the decision is far from obvious, You might opt for more grill vs. fancy features that might not really make a meaningful difference. I chose the Weber S-435 because I don't like clutter and the Weber crafted accessories fit in the side cabinet and under the grill. I know it is easier to find replacement parts for the Weber. Weber is everywhere. I had to go to a specialty shop just to see one put together. Did I mention that they wanted to charge me over $300 to assemble and deliver. The Weber installation was flawless. I like my decision. I got a much larger grill for my money.

  6. Hello, my Broil King Regal 490 is completely full of rust after only 5 years. I can share picture of it, it is really not high quality… the gaz ramp is rusted, the burner are rusted, the cuve is full of rust, it's even dangerous now as the ramp injector are rusted and gaz is leaking outside the burner and the cuve… this is not normal, they are selling Inox but it's not good quality inox and I am really disappointed…

  7. Great review. I really want to like the Broil King, but that sealing… Weber i great, but I'm really impressed about the Napoleon. That will be my next grill especially with a lifetime warranty…I would pay extra for that.
Are you sure the Weber Genesis doesn't have connected burners?
My Spirit 2 have it + stainless steel and it hides away the gas tank on the side. Oh and you can buy a rotisserie for the Weber.

  8. Removed a section in my camper where the entertainment area is and installed. Works great. Instead of propane furnace heat, I can use this https://www.youtube.com/post/UgkxATHBlMJwipGgVWseuAFKvDQ_5R4_lywo to heat the camper as long as it's hooked up to shore power. Only thing I do not like is there does not seem to be a thermostat. I'm presuming it has a built-in one so it does not overheat. Really like all the other color options it has to offer.

  9. I am actually surprised that you chose the Napoleon as the whole video seemed to be promoting Weber.
You don't mention the price point of each. That is very important in comparisons but I will assume they are all in the same ballpark..

You point out the pluses of the Napoleon hood and yet the Broil King's hood appears to have the same heat retaining curvature. You point out the lack of stainless steel grills on the Weber but talk about a different model to compensate. The is one of the things lacking in the Weber as well as only 3 burners compared to 4 on the other two.

When I cook, I don't cook on the tub. How often does someone need to replace the tub compared to how often do they need to replace the burners, the deflectors the grill plates or the rotisserie or the side burner? Your obsession with the tub seems like a moot point to me. Over the years I have had some cheap grills and never has the tub been an issue on any.

I use my grill for a lot of cooking not just grilling. I have used it as a smoker, I have baked meatloaf on the warming rack and a lot more. If the power goes out, it is my stove. I rarely use my side burner unless I want to keep a baste warm. I have faster burners on my campstove if the power is out. My cabinet always gets spider webs on everything so I do not store much in it other than the tank or my rotisserie rod which I wash before using.

Weber's are overpriced for the features offered. Build quality is excellent but features aren't. This model is lacking in the stainless grills; # of burners and the lack of rotisserie. 3 major flaws if this is in the same price range as the others. Fewer burners means more wear and tear on each and less versatility for low heat depending on the BTUs and the space being heated. The side burner grate looks very cheaply made. If that burner has good BTUs, that little grate will warp in no time. The fold down warming rack is a nice feature but it is small. Decent cabinet but no tank storage.

Broil King offers the best grill plates; best cabinet; good side burner grate; and the biggest heating rack which can be used for baking items like potatoes or anything that you may not want on direct heat. It has 4 burners, rotisserie and side burner and the hood has the same curvature as the Napoleon which you admired only on the Napoleon. With 4 burners you can have the outer two on and bake on the centre of the warming rack.

Napoleon has all the features of the Broil King but the stainless grills are thinner than the Broil King. The lights on the knobs is cool but if you turn them off as you leave the grill as one might do, you still won't see if you left one burner on. The warming rack is quite small. overall a good choice though.

I don't know why you give credit to one brand only for a feature when another also had it. I do think you sold the viewers short in regards to the Broil King. Not sure why other than an obsession with tubs? How many tubs have you seen rot/rust out within a couple of decades of use?

My bias is Broil King due to experience. I chose it over a Weber many years ago. Napoleon was just starting then. At that time, it had the same weight grills as the Weber and well as one burner more, a side burner and a gas rotisserie. The weber had 3 burners and nothing else. The gas rotisserie is far superior to any infrared one that I have used. My Broil King is about 20 years old now and I have not had to replace anything on it.

I suggest that for your next review, try going back and forth between them for each feature as you did with the cabinets. Grills; then burners; then side burners; etc.

  10. I dont give a 2 for 2 i want to know how is the cooking consistently, gas consumption, can i put in lava rocks , can i smoke with it also will it hold a constant heat …any grill is not promised as used it depends on the customer experience heat thermometer taste and experience experience and pre season of the device

  11. You are right about the aluminum body on the Weber it's awesome along with the stainless grates.

The PROBLEM is the body of the Genesis is crap…total RUSTING CRAP. I have rebuilt the body of my GENESIS twice. Once was a partial rebuild and the second time damn near EVERYTHING. It been 3 years since the last time and THE DOORS ARE RUSTING AND FALLING OFF. I'm so pissed I can't see straight. It's wrong.
This grill is NOT cheap and when I bought it it was "the last grill I'd ever have to buy!" I bought it because I wanted the quality and I didn't mind paying for it.
By the way………………..Weber is "sorry for your experience" when your ORDERING PARTS TO REPLACE THE WHOLE CABINET UNDER THE GRILL.
A person could make a LOT of money offering ALL STAINLESS CABINETS for all stainless (last you'll ever buy) Weber grills.

  12. Great videos – I recently purchased the Napoleon 500 Prestige based on your recent videos comparing Napoleon vs Weber. Again, Great Video! What I noticed on the Napoleon 500 Prestige is, no double lined hood like the Weber Genesis – The Weber Genesis seems to have a more robust (heavier) hood that Napoleon. What are your thoughts on the Napoleon not manufactured with a double lined hood. Seems like Napoleon went the cheaper route with use of a single lined hood, 20 gage, which is surprising for the price point. Thoughts?

  13. I had a Weber Summit S-470 with rotisserie, from 2008. I used the rotisserie three times in 14 years. It was an easy choice to "downgrade" to the Genesis II S-435 this time around in 2022. BTW, although the Summit's tub was fine, the base panel of the cabinet was all rusted out after about 10 years or so.
